Yadier Molina 1/1 redemption help Topps
 

Have tried a couple places to get help on this not sure if anyone here could help me, it would be much appreciated!

I pulled a 1/1 “Dynasty Dual Autoed Patch Card Gold Parallel-OSmith-YMolina” a couple years ago and have been waiting for it to be fulfilled. It appears the card will never be made so I have decided to just request a replacement and bite the bullet. I emailed Topps customer service a month and a half ago and no replies to request one and the request sub button doesn’t even work on the website. I also tried to call on my work lunch break and was on hold for 45 minutes with my position being “1” since the beginning of the call, I’m guessing they just have no one answering phones now? Is there anything else I can do or email I may not have with someone in the company to get ahold of them? Honestly looking to get any replacement and sell for whatever it may be since money is a little right right now trying to buy a new house. Thanks for any help!

Also I see 2018 Yadier Molina Topps Dynasty on ebay selling for $500, $700, etc. so I’m a little upset they couldn’t have just gotten me something from him if Smith didn’t sign for some reason.

Smith signs anything and everything. Yadi just started signing again so I’d say you have a chance.

Sorry about your plight. I don’t know if there’s another company in the world worse to it’s customers that still voluntarily throw their money at it.

Yadi hasn't signed on card autos since late 2019.
Everything from nov2019 till now is stickers.
That's what a close friend of yadi has told me.

Yadi signed a few panini late in 2019 and that was pretty much. Everything else was ton and tons of sticker pages that yadi signs and sends thru mail to topps.

I would hold out if I were you. Chance is slim but its way better than a replacement. A replacement would probably be a card worth 2/5 of the yadi.

forgot to add. There's a few pre topps now yadier molina autos circulating lately. IF that's true (IF), then you'll see a lot of on card auto in the next 3-7 months.

Hold it and keep calling topps. Hope they put that card next to the topps now auto when yadi is signing.

The thing is I see 2018 Topps Dynasty on card autos by him just appearing on eBay (which is the set my card is in). Unfortunate mine still has the “request sub” button by it. Wondering why others were fulfilled and not mine?

I think I saw in another post the Yaris Dynasty’s were starting to trickle out and Topps is trying to make good on those redemptions, albeit 3 years later. I’d hold out hope at this point and not request a sub, a 1/1 dual auto of yadi/Ozzie would be a nice add to anyone’s collection. You’ve waited this long, what’s another few months possibly?

Redemption cards are the worst, it's finding a headache in a pack

I did see a video where a Yadi auto redemption came in this past week so it appears he has starting signing things again. Ozzie shouldn't be an issue getting it signed.

I had 15 Molina 2018 dynasty cards that were just redeemed.

I have one x/5 of the Ozzie / Yadi Dual 2018 Dynasty auto that still says request sub. (congrats on the 1/1)

I've been holding out hope these are redeemed soon, so please keep us updated if you hear anything.

I did have a 2018 Topps heritage Bob Gibson / Molina that topps said would not be fulfilled. I will be receiving a subsititute hopefully. Its been to months since they told me.

For sure now that some Yadis are coming out I will wait it out. It seemed dead in the water a couple months ago. It’s odd that his 2018 ones are being fulfilled but this one for whatever reason hasn’t from the same collection. My hope is maybe they had to send it out to Smith to sign after Yadi did??? I would like to contact them to find out the status but I’ve gotten no email reply and no one answers the phone when I try.

I have been waiting on a Topps Heritage Clubhouse Collection dual auto with Molina and Gibson. When Gibson passed away I went to request a sub and got a message that it wasn't available for this particular card. I have no idea what my next move would be...

Finally had time to try and call again and they are closed for the holiday today. Has anyone had luck in actually talking to someone lately anyways? Last time I was on hold for an hour and they’ve never replied to my two emails from a couple months ago.

I can probably shed some light on why this hasn't been filled. The autos aren't the issue, its the patch from Ozzie. I have a Strata patch auto from like 2014 I'm waiting on and they don't have patches besides plain ones.
What drives me nuts about Topps is the inconsistency with their redemptions. Sometimes they will force you to take a replacement after like a year but other times they sit there for years and they won't replace. I have a Matt Holliday Postseason Performance Auto redemption from 2015 that is still in my open redemptions.

The issue might have been both of them then, Yadi ones just started showing up online so it took a while for him to sign. Hey I mean I’d take a 1/1 Yadi then lol if ozzies patch is the problem. I don’t get why you’d make a card where you don’t have the supplies to fulfill them.

You would imagine there are people at Topps whose job it is to coordinate what materials they have, including patches and logos and barrels and knobs, with the players they have under contract to sign cards, and how long those contracts last, so they don't print redemptions that will go unfulfilled. And you'd think they'd be able to get those cards assembled and get signatures back in a timely manner. But that is apparently not the case.

not saying it is the case here, but a lot of times it is not the fault of the company.

-the player just does not sign for whatever reason and it is a fine line to how hard the company can push the player to sign

-the player signs, but only signs a very few at a time and gets them back slowly

-they get lost / misplaced either by the player, or in the mail. see the case about the golfer who actually signed all his cards and returned them on time, but they got lost and ended up in a lost mail auction.

this is just one of the reasons redemptions are not a good thing for the hobby.

Yeah I’m glad it came through, I was expecting to get it replaced with a Cole Hamels base card like other redemption horror stories :p

Never, ever blindly request a replacement for a 1/1 auto. Never. You are just asking for trouble. Glad you got the actual card.
