Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Altuve is 5'6". Hedbert is closer to Soto's height than Altuve's. There are plenty of sub 6' ballplayers. Hedbert also just turned 18 in May, plenty of time to fill out his frame. |
Your Argument is very skewed since this ONE game he had tonight is really inflating his stats.
You say he is batting .368 but he was batting .310 the game before. You say he hit 2 home runs but he only had 2 home runs combined for the season before. Lets look at a bigger sample size. He looks good but Lets Compare him to another Guy who is 18. He only had 2 Home runs total before this game now giving him 4. This game is really inflating his stats but its great for a small sample size. Lets look at 2 players BEFORE this game of his. Perez This year 18 Years Old .323/.383/.484 2 Home Runs 6 RBI's 2 2B 0 3b 6 Runs Now lets look at another 18 Year Old who is on a bigger market team. 18 Years Old .293/.383/.554 4 Home Runs 17 RBI's 4 2B 4 3B 21 Runs Perez Last 10 games before this game 13 Hits 1 Home Run 0 2B 0 3B 2 RBI's 10 Runs .278/.350/.361 Other Guy That is 18 12 Hits 2 Home Runs 2 2B 1 3B 5 RBI's 6 Runs .316/.395/.579 While he is off to a great start this 1 game has just inflated his stats a ton. But lets see if he can keep it up. But, I would rather have the other guy that is 18 and would rather call him the next Juan Soto. And i didnt even have to make a thread about the other guy ;} |

Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
You are correct i meant to put 4 it was a typo. But i didnt say any names... Dont make a difference if "the other guy" is ALMOST 19 he still is 18 just like perez. Ok "the other guy" has a few more strikeouts. But he is far better in every category so far and even when you compare both of their last 10 games. I dont think either of them will be either but like i said, i think the other guy has a far better chance and i didnt even have to make a thread about how "the other guy" just won "Player of the week" |

This is Alexander Ramirez's 2nd taste of pro ball, and Hedbert's first. They were different J2 classes - that's more what I MEAN by the the age difference. And sure, K% isn't everything especially at this age, but when it's 37% in Rookie ball, it's a little concerning. (Hedbert's is 23%) Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk |
Sorry, but there is only Juan.
|
I wouldn’t go that far but between his play at spring training and rookie ball he has shown signs that he could be very special, only time will tell how good he can actually get.

Yes, and it’s great too see that after just a few years, he’s now the player in a comparison “……….. is the next Soto!” |
The next "Juan" could possibly be playing on that same Nats team already. Not going to say who, but he hit a pair of bombs in the same game just a couple of nights ago. 🤫

invest...INVEST...INVE$$$$$$$$T

Will he be making his MLB debut next year?

You anticipate that he’ll reach 350 lbs, or so??? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Will he be in ‘21 Update? Is he better than Babe Ruth? And does he think a National on the West Coast is a good idea?

Is he clutch?

I’ve started buying. Guy just turned 21 |
Hedbert as an 18 year old in the complex league:
6.8% walk rate, 23.3% k rate Soto as a 17 year old in the GCL 7.7% walk rate, 13.7% K rate There could be a fun thread of all the 17-19 year old complex league hall of famers that never amounted to much afterward. What about a 17 year old SS who went 355/404/610 with 6HR and less than a K per game in a relatively “full” complex league season? Let’s all be glad he didn’t have cards until far later. Was going to make a thread for Stephen Strasburg today.
|
Will he become an international icon known only by his first name like Ichiro?
