Did anyone watch The Many Saints of Newark…
…and hate it as much as me and Michael Franzese did. Geez what a terrible movie and a straight up slap to the face of The Sopranos.

Brutally bad movie.

Haven’t watched it yet but everything I’ve heard from friends and online reviews have been bad. Not surprised. Is it woke?

One could make the argument it has a “woke” aspect to it but it has a myriad amount of problems that make it horrible. Spoiler: The scene where Dickie drowns his goomar for sleeping with Harold and the scene where Johnny wonders why black people are living in his neighborhood after coming home from four years in prison seem like outtakes from the Clayton Bigsby sketch from The Chappelle Show. |
I think people were hoping the movie was more about Tony Soprano and his dad, but Moltisanti literally means "Many Saints" so the title was accurate since the movie was the story of Dickie Moltisanti.
Didn't you like the ending though when Dickie came back to life and gave young Tony superpowers? I also loved the two bonus scenes after the credits. Christopher Walken and Leonardo DiCaprio? Wow! |
Not good in my opinion. Forced bad acting, forced storyline. Just bad [emoji107]

I enjoyed the story but Jr. flopped.

Besides Gandolfini’s kid and Vera Farmiga I thought everyone was doing really bad cheesy impressions of Sopranos characters. I mean Silvio doing his Godfather impression in the original series was better. |
It was a letdown but if you invested the time to watch the whole series you obviously have to watch the movie.

I liked it...lol.

It's like the people who bashed the reboot of the Fantastic Four basing it on the original.
If you were looking for Soprano's you shouldn't have watched it, On it's own merits it wasn't bad 5.5/10 Some questions answered, some traits we saw the beginnings of. |

You really think this movie has any appeal for non-Sopranos fans? The creators certainly didn’t think so or they wouldn’t have put in so much fan service that would be lost on people who haven’t seen the show. |
Kinda crap

Nope, didnt like it at all. Haven't been that disappointed in a movie I had really been wating to see in awhile.
