Deserves its own thread.
Farewell, FF5. https://twitter.com/kileymcd/status/1504307910058422272?t=IzZ9XEiARm2M3R2lxNInzg&s=19 |

I'm guessing they project they'll get 'enough' value out of Olson (for less AAV) to cover. Remember, the Braves did what they did last season without Ronald Acuna for most of the year. |
New CBA is gonna turn MLB into European soccer... top 6 franchises competing for the championship year over year and the rest just happy to be there. This is bad for the sport.

You can't go wrong with either guy, however. |

True. The way I see it, there's actually a decent chance that Olson = Freeman in terms of overall value over the next few years. If that is true, then the Braves sold Pache, Langeliers, and two other guys for like $26M in 2028-2029  |

Freddie only wanted LA... he faked everyone out on the way there too.

Lotta cash but great player

Fixed for ya. |

Yup. Sad but true. He wanted to get paid, can’t blame him. He won a title, he’ll forever be a legend in Atlanta…but he’s no Chipper :) |
Need a salary cap
|
Large contracts signed after 30 years old rarely ever work out for the team.

But this is the Dodgers. Money has no meaning. Their local TV contract alone pays them a billion dollars. |

Why pay Freeman when you can just traded for and extend a younger, possibly better, version of him? |

Unlimited money and they still have a poor rotation. I look forward to watching them sputter in 2nd place behind the Giants for the first half and then trade for deGrom at the deadline and finish in 1st only to lose to the Braves in 6 again. This is going to happen, right? |

If there is anyone who I’m almost positive will still be a solid bat at 38 it’s Freddie. Dude knows hitting and knows when he is out of whack and what to do to fix it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Congrats Freddie! You will be missed but thanks for the championship and the memories. Great player and seems like a great guy as well.
