2022 NHL Playoffs thread
Should be fun especially in the East.
I'm predicting Carolina, Rangers, Toronto, Calgary to lose in the 1st round. If Ovi is healthy then Florida losses 1st round too. :coffee: |

All 3 wins in regulation, and outscored the Penguins 11-4. So a 1.00 GAA? Makes sense |
Toronto doesn't has a hope in hell, imo, but I don't see Carolina nor Calgary exiting the first round.
Playoffs are a different brand of hockey, as everyone knows, and anything can happen but I don't think what you're predicting is going to happen. Florida is strong so I don't see the Caps getting by them either, but then again, who would have guessed Columbus beating Tampa 4 straight not many years ago? |

Makes sense
Meaningless games. Books have even odds for the series already so it won't even be an upset. If your confident collect the free money. They have home ice too.;) |

So the 82-game regular season is meaningless in hockey now? Are you just trying to prove a point here. Yes the Rangers are postseason inexperienced, but they are clearly the better team this year. 6 more wins, and a 3-1 record against the opponent, with probably the best goalie in the league on their side. But then again aren't you a Crosby knob swallower? |

Rangers could beat them 80 times in a row in regular season and the playoff game would still be 50/50. |
Lots of fun series and interesting storylines in the first round. I'll probably watch Leafs/Lightning the most but the jerseys are gonna be confusing as all hell haha.
Wonder which team's goalie gets red hot and carries them this year? |
Does Shesterkin have the stamina and durability to start between 24-28 games against elite offenses every other night, while maintaining his standard of play? It’s pretty established that he needs to be elite for the Rangers to have a chance. He will need to start every single game obviously, any Georgiyev start will be an automatic loss.
He’s the best goalie in the league right now so I wouldn’t put it past him, but it’s far from a guarantee |
I have Calgary, Edmonton, Colorado and Minnesota in the west.
Tampa, Pittsburgh, Boston and Florida in the East. |
I'm very interested in the Calgary - Dallas series.
That series will feature, in my opinion, the two best lines in hockey: Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk and Robertson-Hintz-Pavelski. Dallas doesn't have any depth, but it might not matter as much when teams are shortening their benches in the playoffs. Oettinger has a high ceiling in net where if he gets hot he can be as good as anyone. I'd still pick Calgary to win the series, but it should be close |

Best time of the year!

Kind of did some shuffling with my favs due to there always being upsets but I'll likely find out soon enough if that was smart or not?

The only team that I don’t think the rangers have a chance against is Carolina. So I’m hoping for a Boston upset.
That said I’ve already convinced myself they are losing to the Pens this way it’s not so annoying if it happens |

Done. :)! |
Always fun trying to guess which series will annihilate both teams so that even whoever advances will be limping in the next round. At least 3 series where that happens here.
|
Let's go Wild! This is the most exciting team I can remember watching. The 2010s Wild were a lot of fun, but this team is just different. Looking forward to playoff hockey!

He did something when he was 18 that you didn’t like. |

Can't wait to see all my friends and co-workers lose their $hit when the Laughs lose 4-1 to Bolts

Avalanche or Panthers to win the whole thing. I also think The Stars might cause an upset vs The Flames.

24 hours away.
After being checked out on the Flyers all year, I am very much looking forward to some playoff hockey. 7 members in the bracket challenge group which is great, join if you haven't already https://bracketchallenge.nhl.com/leagues/27435 |
