Counterfeit Jordan BMOC? Need some help please.
4 Attachment(s)
Hello, I recently bought this card but think it may be fake. I was quite excited at first as it's my first time owning one but once I held it in hand it felt a little lighter than usual, which seemed strange to me. Can someone take a look and their thoughts? Thank you in advance.

Foil looks good, text and coloring don't seem out of focus like a reprint would, and that front + back edge chipping looks exactly like it would on an authentic copy. I'm not an expert but from the pictures, I don't see anything that would make me think it wasn't legitimate.

The only question is was it trimmed?

I would be shocked if you or anyone else could tell the difference between 1 or 2 grams with just your hands. |
I'm definitely not an expert but the moment I felt it in hand, it felt lighter than the usual card. I've been sold a couple of fake cards before and they too felt like this, a tad lighter, so wanted to ask on about this one as I read there are many fakes out there. Is there any way to tell if it's trimmed without sending it to a grading company?

Yes sorry to say that is a fake.

What evidence do you see to make that claim? Everything looks legit about that card. Please don't make any claims unless you have knowledge about it. Those Skybox Z Force cards are on absolutely crap, flimsy, and thin card stock. They will appear to lighter than most cards from that generation. I don't see any red flags. |
I have plenty of knowledge. The corners of the M and the N are key characteristics of the fake.

Just search “BMOC fake” and sort to show posts. This has been addressed a lot. I’ve noticed people are extremely lazy and won’t even read material from the site they’re already on. |

It isn't people being lazy in this case in my opinion. All the threads say look at this card and there are no pictures. From the links below you can read all you want, but you are not going to learn anything from it. Tell me how can you get anything out of this material? Rare Michael Jordan inserts are one thing that people spend a lot of time trying to make fakes. |

Rounded without straight edges are fakes. Very apparent now, but making that connection through text and not having working links is difficult. In hand with a loupe, the fakes would be easy to tell with printing. However, these are not bad, but when compared you can see obvious printing differences in sections. I am all for buying raw cards, but Jordan's are a different story. They make fakes of his 1988 Fleer, that is how bad it has gotten with Jordan. |

Yes you do and I was the idiot! So much easier to tell fakes from the non-glossy era and earlier. The printing on these is not bad. I am sure with a loupe and by feel like the OP said it would be apparent though. |
