Daulton Varsho. He played a ball off his chest in right field. He'd have my vote. (yes he was/is a catcher)

I do not understand Edman and Varsho being nominated for Utility when they are already nominated for other positions.

4 Braves (P, C, 1st, SS). Michael Harris will enter the CF finalists starting next year for the next decade.

Looking exclusively at positions where the Guardians are finalists, because that's all I care about...

AL Pitcher: I really don't have an opinion
AL 2B: Slight lean to Gimenez over Schoop, Semien a distance third.
AL 3B: Big gap between Urias and Ramirez/Chapman
AL LF: Kwan running away, no one else in the stratosphere
AL CF: Jose Siri should've been a finalist over Mullins; I'd probably pick Straw over Taylor looking at the numbers, but both are deserving.

I know Atlanta has a bunch of ground ball pitchers, but it's surprising how few putouts Harris has. Thomas had 60 more in 110 less innings, Robles had 90 more in 50 less innings

I think voters got confused and thought being in the 1st percentile in outs above average was a good thing.

I guess Boone playing Judge in center field and right field this year screwed him out of a chance at a right field gold glove. :rolleyes:

Hayes should give Arenado his best run, but Arenado will probably take it with ease.

Hayes led the MLB in dWAR, but I'm not sure that matters. Arenado has only led the NL one time in his career and won the award every time.

No joke, Vladdy's D now is GG worthy. Gets down into the splits effortlessly for a big guy like an NHL goalie. Chapman is a brick wall at 3'rd.

Some weird names on that list. Were they watching baseball this year?

Christian Yelich at LF for the NL?!?!? As a Brewers fan I cannot stop laughing at this!! :cry:

So many guys on this list who shouldn't be. Even if defensive metrics might be suspect at times, they can't be *this* wrong, can they??

When did they add Utility? I don’t remember seeing that before…

Have you watched Vlad play first? His 10 errors are excessive for the position, but he makes plays.

He also was pegged as the top defensive first baseman in a Baseball America vote a couple months back.
