Cal Raleigh
First catcher ever to hit home runs from both sides of the plate in a single game at Fenway park- impressive second year he is having so far.
The Jeff Clement that never was! |
Dude is a stud. Been silently hoarding him.

Best catcher in baseball? It took me :02 seconds to come up with one better. Sean Murphy is hitting .268 avg, 9 homers, 32 RBIs, .965 OPS. Oh, and he wins gold gloves. Lol.

So would Salvy and Adley. Dudes not even top 5, maybe 10... maybe |
Guys...actual stats don't matter. A guy on Twitter said he was the best. Done deal.

Cal Raleigh presents a fantastic lesson in prospecting.
In 2019, people paid $250 for a 2019 bowman chrome auto Joey Bart and $500 for adley rutschman. They paid $10 for cal Raleigh. Today, that $500 spent in 2019 on two barts would be worth $80, a rutschman $250, and 50 Raleighs would be worth $2500. |

Love me some Big Dumper! I don’t think he’s the best catcher in baseball but I think he can get in that conversation in a few years. From the sounds of it, he’s got a great make-up, fantastic character and is an awesome teammate. He appears to be a better than average defender, with tremendous power from both sides. I think if he can work on his contact a bit more, he can be an All Star. He already has his iconic moment from last years playoff push at seasons end so he’s sold me! |
Also, interesting to note that neither Jason Varitek nor Jorge Posada, both switch hitting catchers, ever hit a home run from both sides of the plate in a single game at Fenway.
Cool stuff for the most ignored field position in the baseball card hobby. |

Long way to go before that comment becomes true. Hope he has a solid year, though! |
Here’s a big chunk of my Dumper PC, but I’ve added quite a few to it since I took this.
