Black November

First wave is up. 2022 TC Update Hobby cases $499 almost worth stashing at that price.

notoriousrmb 11-01-2023 09:18 AM

If you have to think on whether something is a deal...its not a deal.

Jolten Joe 11-01-2023 09:22 AM

2022 Series 2 Blaster case for $599 isn't bad either if you are chasing Julio and Bobby Witt SP's. Can't remember if you could pull them from blasters or hobby only. But still only comes out to around $14 per blaster

^^^^ winner 👍

Thanks for starting the thread. I was just about to myself.

I'm not expecting many deals this year based on factory prices from Fanatics.

zworykin 11-01-2023 09:35 AM

Nice to see 2021 All-Star Rookie Cup on sale again at $60 - probably not buying any, but I sure did love that product, and hate seeing it on tables at every card show for 100-120.

Tonic3 11-01-2023 09:39 AM

Uh oh, down for "maintenance". Maybe they're adjusting the prices back up ;)

Nevermind.....it's back up and working.

Couldn't resist it at that price. Looks like the site crashed right after I purchased as well.

The Accountant 11-01-2023 09:41 AM

2022 TCU is a horrible product, but at $500 it ain't so bad. I opened 4 cases earlier this year and it wasn't pretty

I was eyeing that too. I've opened over 200 boxes or something crazy back at release ($50 a box) but the rookie class hasn't aged well and the vet autos are rare.

Tonic3 11-01-2023 09:43 AM

A couple of the prices remind me off pre-pandemic levels. 2013 Elite Baseball (with Judge rc autos) for $50/box seems like an okay-ish deal.

Was just thinking this feels a lot like old Black Friday

Exactly. Maybe BO has come to terms with the writing on the wall and decided it's better to unload product rather than watch it sit overpriced and unpurchased. It's a hopeful sign but we'll see if it continues.

phil 11-01-2023 09:47 AM

Before the site crashed was looking at Bowman Best University football $499/case, seems like a deal if you like the college stuff. As with BC has autos of Young, Levis etc. + Caleb Williams.

reminder: there is ~1 hit per box (color or autograph). A case is 12 boxes. So that is $499 for 12 color or autographs (about even split).

Case is 12 boxes and I wouldn't buy it to open.

cj828282 11-01-2023 09:51 AM

Yeah, don't think there is guaranteed anything in 2022 TCU. (Except damaged/off centered cards)

baseballcardpedia.com is incorrect, I guess!

Agreed and solid checklist with Witt/Julio among others

Yeah, exactly tracking my thoughts (though I probably only opened more like 50-60, I really don't recall).

anusinha 11-01-2023 09:54 AM

some decent things but nothing earth shattering, hope to see some better stuff pop up.

warehouse might be getting full

beauspencer 11-01-2023 09:56 AM

This does feel like a true Black November for the first time in almost 5 years. Several products at prices I can swallow to either hold, and others for a cheap/fun rip.

I did buy a case of 2022 Chrome Update to put on the shelf.

I'm eyeing some of the WWE products, 2013 Elite Extra Edition, and Stars & Stripes because they are all cheap and fun.

I imagine inventory levels have increased and all of these companies + Fanatics can't sit on all this inventory forever.

They will still make money at the “sale” prices.
