It's that time of year again, USPS delays

Had 5 ESE cards I shipped on the 18th. 7 days later the tracking hadn't updated; I'm talking NOTHING. Had a buyer reach out on Saturday and we had a good conversation; totally understandable to my explanation.

Sent out a message to all 5 buyers letting them know about USPS delays and all that. Had same buyer reach out and told me that the card was delivered today. Tracking still hasn't been updated.

Hopefully, all the other buyers are as honest as this guy as I have no clue if I'd be reimbursed.

Even if the tracking doesn't even show that I mailed the cards? Because that's what it shows. The all only say "tracking provided".

Yes. Acceptance scan not required.

I went through my older items that have yet to arrive;

I just had to file an INR on one that was shipped 27 days ago and purchased 33 days ago with no response from the seller. It's weird because it says Ground Advantage, but there is no tracking #.

Two more items are at 19 days (from Canada) and 20 days (ESE). Neither has any tracking.

Another GA item only has pre-shipment info with no updates after that. The seller contacted me and will be contacting his local PO.

A final ESE item that has nothing but a tracking number and is out 15 days.

That's one INR already filed and up to four more in the next two weeks or so. That's a pretty rough stretch.

pfb11 11-28-2023 02:54 PM

it's been that time of year for a month, for me.

the last 6 ESE items I've bought have all taken 2-3 weeks to arrive. Total insanity.

rwperu34 11-28-2023 04:39 PM

I just had my first INR filed on me in awhile....on an item that shipped 11 days ago:doh:

I just had an ESE finally get close to its destination after two weeks. Hopefully it gets a delivery scan by Friday since that is the case deadline. I might have to add a seasonal USPS blurb in my descriptions.

griffan15 11-29-2023 07:27 AM

It's been like this for a few weeks unfortunately. Luckily, most of the buyers just send messages and will wait it out. For the ones that are a pain, I ask them to open a case and I immediately refund, but also block from future purchases. Not the type of customer I want.

Ese just refund the buyer and file a PIP claim. There is no need to get the strike on your account for not responding to a case when the PIP will cover you..

I mentioned in October some areas were starting to see significant slowdowns then

Some buyer just game me neutral feedback for an INR before letting me get a chance to respond/resolve the situation. This is the type of situation that is infuriating...all over a $3 card.

Wish eBay would communicate the ESE shipping procedure & potential delays to buyers more frequently (maybe notes or a pop up before they buy?). I feel like these type of situations are large majority of what I have to deal with when there is a problem and they are all out of my control.

What does tracking say? Ebay often removes ese negs and neutrals if you pursue its easier if tracking help.

The one for slow shipping is also typically removable if you shipped in your handling time. Ese there is no acceptance requirement so if label was printed on time you are generally protected

I dropped off 2 ebay authenticity orders at USPS on Monday. One has already been authenticated, the other hasn't had any tracking updates since I dropped it off. Both were scanned and hand received at the same time. First time I've had an issue at this PO, I'm heading over there today to see if they can locate the package.

I would not worry about it yet. It's not unheard of for items to go all the way to the destination without being scanned. Way too early to get worried, they likely will do nothing usually they don't care til it's been over a week even then they may tell you to wait 21 days

I hope so. It's a bit tough because I have the same card/grade (different cert obviously) up at auction right now and the same buyer is the highest bid. I don't want him to feel like there's anything fishy going on if he wins a 2nd card and I have to tell him the 1st got lost in the mail.

To make matters worse imo, the PO, the authenticator, and the buyer are all in a 30 mile radius. I literally could have hand delivered the card to the buyer this weekend if we weren't on ebay lol.

If it was shipped there should be no real reason for the buyer to blame you. As long as tracking shows accepted. If he does he is the problem.

Here's a new one. A "buyer" contacted me with a card I sent them that they did not purchase! It was supposed to go to Oklahoma, but ended up going to a similar city in North Carolina. The address on the envelope was NC, so definite eBay glitch.

This story comes with a happy ending. The random person that received the card has agreed to put a stamp on it and get it to its rightful owner. :D:D:D They didn't want reimbursement or anything, although I did offer them a couple of dollars off if they ever buy anything from me in the future.

I'm continually surprised at the kindness of eBay buyers who do things like this. I've mixed up a few orders in the past and each time both buyers were beyond helpful in making sure they sent the other person's card to me so I could get it to the rightful owner.

One time I accidently mixed up a $120 card with a $30 card (whoops!). Sweated that, but the guy who got the $120 card sent it back to me the day after he got it.

Small update on this, the tracking finally kicked in and the package is in Washington DC? This is an ebay vault order so hopefully it's on it's way to the vault in Delaware but I'm concerned that it seems to have skipped authentication entirely. The initial tracking number is still in use, so I know that the package was not delivered to the authentication site and was not given a new label for it's next destination.

This is my first ebay vault order fulfillment, is this normal?

rmw10 12-01-2023 02:14 PM

The slowdown is real. I'm more buyer than seller, and I haven't received a PWE/ESE in the last 2ish weeks despite waiting for about 10 or so. Is what it is.

I thought the used the same tracking number. The last one I did shows it from my doot ro Florida then the reshipment and to Buyer.

Same here, and not only from eBay but budget shipments from Sportlots too. Even regular Ground Advantage shipments via eBay seem hung up at distribution/sorting centers for days at a time (or at least that's what the last scan indicates).

My last 3 AG sales (Oct 2023 - Nov 2023) have all been assigned new tracking numbers after authentication. Ebay will automatically replace the old tracking number on the shipping page, you'd have the check the original tracking number on the USPS site.
