Finally hit in a Flawless Break

1 Attachment(s)
Now I just need to hear some advice. .
I'm guessing cards like this don't typically grade well. I'm gonna get some close-up of the front and back later. Having an RPA like this come back a PSA 10. Is it even possible?

Would you grade, hold, or sell?

2022-23 Panini Flawless Paolo Banchero Rookie Patch AUTO Emerald /5

No other comps on this card that I see. Closest thing are some National Treasures RPA’s /99 that went for $6.3K. Is NT still the hobby favorite over Flawless for RPA’s?

You would think hitting a card like this of a top rookie ….must be worth the price of the box it came in, right? (in this case: $10K-$12K) So probably not.

Any guess on Value?

Camofthehobby 04-01-2024 07:29 AM

I see now the 2/5 is up on auction. Current bid @ $3,200 with 3 days 14 hours remaining

1. Sell
2. Put the money in the bank, pay off debt, or start a collection of your favorite player.
3. Stop breaking.

Seems odd that people would be in such expensive breaks and not have a clue about the card market. Awesome hit though, congrats.

KhalDrogo 04-01-2024 08:08 AM

A 2020 Edwards horizontal /25 raw just did $7625. Banchero /5 is probably 1.25-1.5x that. Unfortunately the horizontal RPAs in Flawless don’t get much love compared to the verticals and SS.

No guess on value, but many Flawless "purists" like myself do not like cards getting cracked out of the "uncirculated" Flawless case, many prefer that the uncirculated hits stay sealed.

Your call on grading it, just wanted to point that out. Good Luck if selling!

dcarado 04-01-2024 08:14 AM

First off, congrats, that's a great hit!

As far as value, put it at .99 and let it ride, but if you know you're selling, the sooner the better. That is not the "true" rpa, so it won't hold quite as well long-term.

As far as grading though, not necessarily correct to assume it won't grade. Thicker cards are tough but definitely can get 10s, especially since that one was not part of the inner box. If you're thinking of going that route, I'd have someone look at it who knows what they're looking for before you crack the flawless seal. Good luck!

Zion flawless/5 horizontal will sell for about $3k-$4k fyi.

kluke84 04-01-2024 12:28 PM

Congrats on the hit! I would skip grading and list the week before the playoffs start (auction)

*not financial advice

It is call show and tell. Congrats on the hit, I definitely sell it now at peak. Example, I have a Luka who should be MVP this year. At peak price, I was offered the price of a brand new car, now the last one sold last week for a price of a low-end used car.

gomiamigo 04-01-2024 03:26 PM

Luka should not be MVP this year.

beavers 04-01-2024 03:35 PM

I think Bancheros best years are ahead. His rookie hype has died down. Not a great time to sell IMO. Feels like you should wait for a better moment to sell if that’s your intention. I would not grade it. I would leave it sealed. Great card no matter what you decide.

hermanotarjeta 04-01-2024 03:37 PM

Doesn’t even cover half the price of a box. Sad.

I don't think I'd use CWebb as the floor, CWebb is in the HOF.

boxbuster7 04-02-2024 02:51 PM

I'd sell raw and not look back

cardozo 04-04-2024 04:22 AM

Congrats on the pull.

Definitely a card to sell asap.

Sell as is and buy the best card you want of your favorite player.

jlzinck 04-04-2024 06:49 AM

Grats on the pull.

Can you PLEASE give me the usernames of the 2 morons who gave you neutral feedback on Ebay so I can block them.

I have it consigned in auction right now. I said 4 days ago, I hope Paolo scores 30+ every game now and apparently he heard me, so Im hoping it goes higher than the other one that sold 5.5k seems low. Still4 days left auction currently at $4.7k

drobfan8 04-06-2024 06:17 AM

All the best with the sale. Congrats again.

I like Paolo.

But the only way is down for that card. It's wild what people pay for unproven players. Wild.
