Nathan Peterman has played in 15 NFL games. He currently has a lower passer rating than if he had just spiked the ball on every play.

Many of you may already know this one, but it needs to be known by ALL fans.

In 1987, JERRY RICE set the record for most touchdown receptions in a season at 22. That record stood until RANDY MOSS broke it in 2007. However, there is one BIG difference. There was a player strike in 1987 and JERRY RICE was forced to miss 4 games!!!

22 in 12 > 23 in 16.

I mean by ratios it is definitely true, but by counting (and that is what people will remember) it is not.

Back to true facts:

The Seattle Seahawks were the last team to ever wear white at home and that did not happen until the 2023 season.

Only two players have won Super Bowls with three different teams:

Kenjon Barner (LII - Eagles, LIII - Patriots, LV - Bucs)
Matt Millen (XV, XVIII - Raiders, XXIV - 49ers, XXVI - Redskins)

The penalty flag was invented by Youngstown State University in 1941.

TheFrenzy 04-02-2024 12:12 PM

No QB with more syllables in their first name than last name has ever won a Super Bowl.

Maybe Jared Goff, Jordan Love, C.J. Stroud, Jalen Hurts, Geno Smith, Justin Fields, or Derek Carr could break this streak.

As CEO and de facto GM, Matt Millen also managed to spend 3 premium picks on wide receivers in 3 straight drafts:

2003: Charles Rodgers (2nd Overall)
2004: Roy Williams (7th Overall)
2005: Mike Williams (10 Overall)

Roy Williams wound up having a decent career, but the other two were busts.

Fenway55 04-02-2024 12:15 PM

Last year the Patriots set a dubious record. For the first and only time in the Super Bowl era, a team gave up 10 points or less 3 weeks in a row AND STILL LOST ALL 3 GAMES.

TheFrenzy 04-02-2024 12:16 PM

It was always confusing watching Roy Williams cover Roy Williams in college (Oklahoma v. Texas) and then play together on the Cowboys.

packman80 04-02-2024 01:14 PM

Larry Pfohl aka the wrestler Lex Luger was with the Packers in the 1980s. Never made the active roster but was the last player to wear 66 for the Packers before it was retired for Ray Nitschke.

The fact that Barner has 3 rings is unbelievable in itself.

And are dead, right?

The Wahington (Insert non-offensive name here) have 3 players with 99 yard receptions in their history. 21.4% of all 99 yard receptions in NFL history

I feel like it overshadowed the fact that Roy Williams (Wide Receiver) actually had a respectable NFL career. 5,700 yards and 44 TDs won't get you in the Hall, but it will keep you out of the Hall of Shame like those other 2.

hreed2 04-02-2024 02:45 PM

Brett Favre's first career completion was to himself for a loss of 7 yards.

Leon White AKA Big Van Vader was on the Rams team that made Super Bowl XIV (he was on injured reserve the whole season though)

RAV2773 04-02-2024 03:10 PM

12 of the 32 NFL teams have never won a Super Bowl and 4 have never even made an appearance.

Didn’t George Halas buy the Bears for $100? He’s almost doubled his investment.

Larry Fitzgerald, more tackles than career drops is always a good one.

The New York Giants had both Tom Landry and Vince Lombardi on their coaching staff as assistants. Neither wound up as head coach of the Giants.

Granted Lombardi wanted to return to NY and be coach of the Giants but GB refused to let him out of his contract.
