Paige Bueckers signs exclusive deal with Panini

Wondering what set her last Bowman autos will be in? Likely she already signed for the upcoming Bowman Chrome University release?

Don’t follow WNBA, but is she hotter than Caitlin Clark?

Cool. Look forward to picking up a Panini Paige card.

She appeared to be upset to know Dallas has the #1 pick. Rumors say that she wanted to be in Los Angeles or anywhere in California...

I would be VERY happy to be in Dallas rather than anywhere in California where taxes are ridiculously high!

Not likely to happen, but Paige is actually eligible to play a 6th year in college so if she really doesn't like Dallas she could decide not to declare for the draft and take a chance on a more preferred team getting the #1 pick the following year.
As I said, it's unlikely, but definitely not a 0% chance of happening.
If it did happen the she would be what Swoops lied about Caitlin being, a 25 year old playing against 18 year olds.

Didn't know about the 6th year eligibility... Thank you for bringing that up. We will see.
Heck, I would get the heck out of college after 5 years, much more 4 years, and go pro... My two cents.

Financially I'm not sure if moving to the WNBA is much better than staying in college. Her NIL deals are already 7 figures, although I suppose most would carry over, and her WNBA salary would be just $76k and the rookie contract is 4 years, but the collective bargaining agreement expires on Oct. 31 2025 and things could change drastically with a new CBA and $260m a year media rights deal (up from $60m thanks to CC) taking effect.
It may make a big difference to rookie contracts, in salary and length, but most of the big names make more from endorsement deals than they ever could from WNBA salary.

Might be no state income tax in Texas, but marketing opportunity wise, she would have much more lucrative earnings potential IN LA being a Spark. Though she won't be hurting no matter where she ends up as she already has a huge marketing presence.

But women can make way more on their NIL deals than they would with a WNBA salary.

whitmm 11-19-2024 03:54 PM

For players like Paige and Caitlin, staying in college makes zero sense. All of Caitlin's NIL money was from national endorsements. Those weren't going anywhere.

Same with Paige. Here's a list of her NIL deals: Nike, Dunkin', Leaf, GoArmy, Chegg, Nerf, Bose, Crocs, Gatorade, StockX. And she's signed to the Unrivaled league that will be paying her $250,000.

The big names are not getting their NIL money from the school's collectives.

703dispensary 11-19-2024 05:00 PM

I mean there is that other aspect of staying in school for when maybe she wants to go in another direction with her life. She's had injury so I think that could also weigh into the thinking w/ the other considerations like potential location she would end up in based on who is drafting #1 if she doesn't want to go to a particular state/team/etc..

Zero sense is asinine. We all know where the money comes from

Maybe she likes College. Maybe she wants to win a Title there. Maybe she hates Dallas

You’re contradicting your own point. It makes all the sense in the world to stay in College if your endorsements are national and you don’t care about a $75K salary

Maybe she really wants to be Van Wilder. I hope she does

Reality is she can live wherever she wants most of the year. WNBA season is only 4 months long. She can have a Dallas home and California home if that’s what she wants.

It doesn't contradict my point. We're talking about making money.

My whole comment was based around NIL money. It was addressing Sticks33 and Incarnadine's comments that they can make more money staying in college. That's not true for the big stars. Paige will take all of her NIL deals plus tack on a $75K salary.

And it's not asinine. Staying in college from a financial standpoint makes zero sense for the big names.

It absolutely contradicts your point

You said it makes zero sense to stay in college. That is not true

Collectives can easily pay more than a WNBA salary

If the national stuff is the same? Which is what you said… You are contradicting yourself

Simple as that

asujbl 11-19-2024 05:25 PM

Hell for all we know Nike will kick her another $1M to stay in school, with how popular the college game is right now for women, and not play for Dallas and see where she ends up in the next draft

This is apples and oranges compared to the men to sign with professional leagues

Women don’t need the WNBA to make their top dollar

ThatGuyPal 11-19-2024 05:27 PM

These girls need to thank Caitlin, now all of a sudden the women are getting exclusive deals. Next will be Hailey Van Lith and Juju Watkins.

Speaking of Upper Deck must just sign non-exclusive deals because Juju is with them and still has Topps Now cards/Bowman, and Iga Swiatek in tennis is with them and was in Topps Chrome Tennis.

You're wrong. Simple as that.

Caitlin Clark didn't get money from the school's collective. Everything came from national deals. Going pro, she keeps all of that, plus adds a salary.

National money + salary > National money + no salary. Tell me where I'm wrong.

From a financial standpoint, not whatever BS you try saying I'm talking about, it makes no sense to stay in college.

Cool beans… you literally don’t know how to read. It’s quite wild actually

National + salary is way less than National + UConn Collective. I literally typed that out

If you don’t think UConn would pony up 6 figures for her to stay? You’re the dumbest person on Blowout

You’re wrong but I also don’t care anymore

Oh, look at that, Nike is official uniform provider of the WNBA. Would make more sense for them to give her a bigger deal to go pro and help the league that needs it more than the NCAA.

Women don't need the NCAA to make their top dollar either.

Can you provide me with how much Paige gets from the UCONN Collective?

asujbl 11-19-2024 05:42 PM

Side note to rational people… I think she goes professional… I’m not saying she stays or that I predict she stays

My posts are simply about the crazy person
