https://www.topps.com/pages/welcome-to-the-club-3x-mvp

Milk it til the Shohei cow runs dry.

Here's the list of 3x MVP Winners for reference.
Ohtani
Trout
Pujols
Bonds
ARod
Schmidt
Mantle
Berra
Campanella
Musial
DiMaggio
Foxx
Topps Welcome to the Club commemorates the game's greatest athletes joining the sporting world's most exclusive clubs. Fittingly, 2025 Topps Welcome to the Club: 3X MVP captures Shohei Ohtani's entry to the 3X MVP Club, and includes a complete checklist of MLB's 3-time MVP winners.

Look for (1) Parallel numbered to /150 or lower and (1) 3X MVP Dual Subject Insert card per box, PLUS look for incredible Autograph and Cut-Signature cards of every 3X MVP Club member, and Dual-Autographs with the club's newest member, Shohei Ohtani, alongside Mickey Mantle, Barry Bonds, Joe DiMaggio and more.
Feels like another 50/50 money grab.

If they don't mess around with an unnumbered parallel and you get one /150 or lower, at least a print run can be figured out this time around.

Cracktoast 01-25-2025 11:15 PM

so I assume all of the deceased player autos are going to have some type of COA ? Because after the whole Skeene's nonsense nobody is going to believe a word this company says.

no thanks

pretty cool!

fabiani12333 01-26-2025 02:21 AM

Not a bad idea. It will come down to execution, though -- nice designs and good autograph groupings. Ohtani, Trout, A-Rod, Bonds, Pujols and Schmidt -- that's a hell of a list of potential signers.

What’s the difference between a cow and Shohei Ohtani?

Eventually you stop milking a cow

Triple B 01-26-2025 09:30 AM

10x, baby!

Trueblue 01-26-2025 04:30 PM

This set is going to be fart in the wind long term when Sho wins his 4th and 5th..

Like any other Ted Williams fan will tell you, instead of the two MVP's he had, he should have at least 2-3 more.
Came in 2nd four times, leading the league in batting average, RBI and home runs three of those years.
And of course the year he hit .406 Dimaggio had his hit streak.

Some of those Yankees shouldn't have had 3 MVPs. It's unfortunate because back then you not only needed stats but your team needed to perform. Then again I think it was one of Yogi's MVP's where the runner up who had better stats was still a Yankee. I dunno, maybe I just love hating Yankees so much it clouds my thinking.

A lot of writers didn’t love Ted.

He lost the MVP in '47 when he led the league in HR, RBI, BA, Runs, TB, OBP, SLG%, OPS, OPS+, and WAR.

Haha -- what?

DiMaggio won presumably because the Yankees won the AL.

It could be that Williams' case was hurt by hitting only .230, with 2 HR, and a .813 OPS in 22 games against the Yankees that season.

This will be an expensive box looking at a guaranteed auto.
This will be an expensive box looking at a guaranteed auto.
Auto is not guaranteed, it says "look for autos"... which means not in every box.

scotchtape0 01-27-2025 10:54 AM

Do we know anything about what you actually get in the box other than 1 parallel and 1 dual subject insert card? It's hard to tell whether that is the entire box or if you get other cards as well.

Nope. That's all we know. No idea how many cards, if there's packs, odds, price, anything.

Bob Ross 01-27-2025 11:33 AM

Really cool that there's no price yet. Or checklist, cards per box, odds, packs, set make up, which big card will be backdoored, weight, etc.

Fun!

Surprised Topps haven't added Fanatics-logoed weight scales to their supplies category yet.

BoSoxFan1999 01-27-2025 12:40 PM

I bought some of the 50/50 boxes and got lucky. Not buying this though! (mainly because my money is earmarked for '25 BUC basketball)
