Trading him pretty much guaranteed that the pick was staying. So they gave him away for other teams underperforming role players and an expiring? And they put their own 2nd rounder on top?

Kings did great. Two 1st, five 2nds and they get to dump Huerter.

Spurs are now better than the Mavs.

This at least is a deal you could expect to see at the deadline.

Kings got more for Fox than the Mavs did for Luka.

Spurs look fun. Still need a dependable shot creating wing to lighten the defensive pressure on Wadlow so he can actually post up like a real 5.

But they're moving in the right direction.

Fox is perfect for the Spurs.

Once broken down, it's two 1st. One should be in the 20s and the other one is 6 years away and is a complete unknown (although I would bank on it being a lottery pick). They are gonna get like 6 2nds though, and some of those will be in the early 30s.

I'll still take the Luka package but it's crazy how close in value they are.

So the Spurs are going all in on a playoff run? Should benefit Wemby collectors.

Yeah, "stacking" picks doesn't really work in the NBA. Especially 2nd rounders. Stacking 2nd rounders just means your G-League team is going to be really good. They are best used for moving up in the draft or sweetners in other deals. So in that regards, they are assets. I just wouldn't want to be stuck in a year and actually draft 3 second rounders, for example.
