2025 Mowing/Landscaping Log

I got the zero turn serviced yesterday. Found a guy that comes to your house and does it, which makes it easier. Everything sharpened, lubed and ready to roll. With these temps and if we get some rain, I'm looking at a first mow around the beginning of April.

Oh man here we go again. Gonna have to get the beast serviced soon. I used flexseal to fix the hole that rusted through the deck. :D Every year they shake their heads when I drop it off but there's nothing more satisfying than hearing her fire up after a series of dead pulls on the starter rope!

I thought you were going straight tree hugger and getting an electric mower? One of my "friends" on FB got some electric/AI mower that uses GPS to mow on it's own.

Apparently it is a snow blower as well. He had video of it doing that when we got our last snow. I think it cost about $6,000.

Boo is to his zero-turn as Azzjublees is to his PSA 10s.

I have to keep her happy for the summer ahead, rolling over the hills and dales of the Compound. You are just jelly.

Nah, I don't need to drop $6k to mow my humble yard. Just fine with the old Craftsman. Hoping for at least one more year but they gave me considerable flak about the hole in the deck last year and I was like hey man I'm not asking you to cut my lawn with the darn thing! They had no response to that.

For laughs I'm going to head down sometime in April and leave a pile for you to swerve around. :)!

Snow clearing has begun at Bnut Gardens. The warm weather melts that garbage on the driveway beautifully! :flex:

Mower repair shop pronounced the Craftsman DOA - refused to repair because of the hole in the deck.

May have to get a new mower after 25 years with the old girl, who was probably a decade old or more when I got her as a gift from my BIL.

Try a different shop. Or that one hardo who can fix anything in his garage.

The Hairy I know isnt a quitter.

Nearly all the snow is gone off of Bnut Gardens. :flex: Going to start tilling this weekend to plant some seed.

I'll take this under advisement. On the one hand, I agree about not quitting. On the other hand that mower was pushing 40. I'll see how much a new E-GO push mower is and go from there.

Don’t think he wants titanium shoulders too…

Landscaping looks like poo.

Going to start resurrecting it this week. I am going to hire a laborer I used last year for the stuff I don't want to do.

Gross.

I do pretty much everything else myself if my body and joints let me.

hairysasquatch 03-20-2025 07:43 PM

So many E-GO models!

Don't want to spend more than $700. :o

At that price you might as well get another gas push mower for under $300. You won’t need to do anything except change the oil every couple of years.

I started a "Mowing Log" back in 2019. Later that year my wife wanted to try out the new mower I had just purchased. I haven't mowed since.

She wanted to upgrade to a zero-turn a couple of years ago, and I haven't figured out how to use it.

I used to love mowing.

I don't know if I'm winning or losing.

IDK a decent gas push mower is >$300, more like $500. May just get the E-Go and skip the maintenance costs.

Boo 03-30-2025 07:54 AM

I didn’t see or hear any mowers yesterday on the 85 degree day. I did see someone getting a lawn treatment from a guy on a 4-wheeler though.

BostonNut 03-30-2025 09:10 AM

Bnut Gardens has plenty of moisture, just need some sunshine!

hairysasquatch 03-30-2025 11:48 AM

Put the old Craftsman out to pasture. Held a moment of silence for an estimated 30-35 years of service, 25 of which were with us. RIP, old girl. :(
