The flood of 1/1's

I was recently doing some research and in a broader sense it seems like there is a ton of 1/1's out there. Does this add variety or saturate the hobby? What are your thoughts on 1/1's? Share your 1/1! All things 1/1 in the hobby. Go!

tjforce 06-23-2025 07:13 PM

It makes a lot of 1/1s matter less, but the most important 1/1s matter more.

Jamessingh1992 06-23-2025 07:18 PM

That's true i can see that point of view. Beckett pop report of about 300,000+ 1/1s just in beckett! I think this is why like, really finding the opportune time to capitalize on a 1/1 can be valuable but to what extent ya know

slyguy 06-23-2025 07:22 PM

Matters more who's on it or who signed it than what /xx number or color green/red/gold, ya know?

Panini XR football put a 1/1 in every case for awhile, so that tells you all you need to know.

Supers are the best

OhioLawyerF5 06-23-2025 07:23 PM

The worst part is when people call cards 1/1 that aren't 1/1s. :coffee:

Jamessingh1992 06-23-2025 07:23 PM

That's also a great point. Auto and player matter a lot.

Boo 06-23-2025 07:28 PM

It’s only a 1/1 if 1/1 is printed on the card.

kipgen 06-23-2025 07:32 PM

I don't mind it, regardless of how many parallels or variations or whatever get printed the market has a way of sorting out which 1/1s people value the most anyway

More options just gives people more kinds of cards to collect, which is good

Jamessingh1992 06-23-2025 07:32 PM

I agree with that, in another sense there are items that are one of a kind. Not the same as 1/1. Another note I wanted to hi on here is that future value of the correct goated 1/1 is probably going to be massive due to their popularity

Jamessingh1992 06-23-2025 07:35 PM

To me the 1/1 have become similar to jelly beans they each have their own flavor but when you get the popcorn one it just hits better

Could you give an example of such a card - one of a kind that isn’t stamped 1/1?

3 cards come to mind when thinking of non stamped 1/1 cards. 1st would be magic the gatherings, the one ring card. 2nd would be konami stainless steel black luster soldier. 3rd Tyler the warrior card also made by Konami. There aren't too many examples but this is what infound in this type of one of a kind status. But we're are here to talk about 1/1s

Are you the lucky owner of that card?
Could you give an example of such a card - one of a kind that isn’t stamped 1/1?
Not a 1/1, but believed to be one of a kind, and I've yet to see another after 27 years.

I would certainly never call it a 1/1, but I just wanted to have another reason to share this beauty. :)!

Jamessingh1992 06-23-2025 08:25 PM

Very cool! Yeah the konami card is mine. I like the barry card too though it's definitely a beauty. I am still unsure if my card is one of a kind and I rather not have this argument in this thread. I made this thread to talk about other stuff basically

Bosoxfan5990 06-23-2025 08:32 PM

RC 1/1s are more valuable than prospect card 1/1s.

Def agree although I think some people prefer prospects for whatever reason, subjectivity I guess

ctau00 06-23-2025 08:50 PM

I'm excitedly waiting on the debut of the yet to release one-of-none to come out. Base is going to take the hobby by storm and the parallels & variations even more highly coveted.

Jamessingh1992 06-23-2025 08:54 PM

Anyone have any 1/1 cards to share?
