Help on A Rare 2013 Prizm $1 Box Find
2 Attachment(s)
Found this in a $1 box at the national. Looking for any information on this BLUE version Hall Monitors subset, such as print run and how they were inserted. All I could find from the set was a Magic Johnson that sold for $250 and a Pippen that sold for $90

If memory serves me correct, Walmart has a blue retail parallel and Target had the red. Both are close in population, but the blue is probably slightly rarer. They had Green's and silver then too in retail. The PSA pop counts on the blue parallel inserts is pretty low though less than ~5-10, where as the Giannis base is about ~60. Granted, back then most people probably didn't realize how rare they were. So a lot are probably in random boxes in peoples closet.
I'd estimate it to be like a 10-30$ depending the right collector for this blue. |
There are some big Drazen collectors. I would think it could go for a decent amount. I would be surprised if it was under 100.

Yea the Magic sale was an auction as well so I'm guessing there is some interest in these cards for PC collectors. |
I can't see the pictures for some reason, but based on the comments it sounds like you have a Drazen Hall Monitors blue. The blue and red retail inserts are extremely rare. They were very tough pulls back then. The blue were Walmart exclusive and the red were Target exclusive. I, honestly would put it up at $399 obo and field offers. You may be surprised at the value. I collect Drazen as well. If you are looking to sell, I may be interested.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking along the same lines of a high BIN with best offer.

That's an amazing find. So I'm one of those die hard Petrovic collectors as he is my main PC. I'm actually trying to put this rainbow together. I currently have the base, silver, green, red, light blue die cut, and orange. So I would love to get 1 step closer in acquiring your card. I'll send you a DM ... |

What do you think the print run on the blue is? |

It seems like 10 or less. |

My guess is 100, but could be higher. I got that number because I pulled the data from Giannis graded 2013 prizm blue cards. He has by far the most graded cards in this set and his blues were graded 133 total times by PSA, BGS, and SGC. That number probably includes some attempts to regrades but I'm sure there are a handful out there that have never been graded. His golds were graded a total of 13 times but those are numbered to 10 so there were definitely a few regrades there. So yeah, a print run of 100 would track since it's the same ratio of golds graded vs print run. I hope that was helpful. |

I am guessing the Giannis is a parallel of the base? I would guess insert sets would be less. According the card channel on Instagram for 2012-13 prizm green retail insert parallels have a print run of 40. Also the green retail of the base is a print run of 120. I know it is an earlier year, but I think it shows that the retail insert parallels are far less than the base. I am guessing it is less than 40. I know other player collectors looking for the blue and red versions. |

Yea for the Hall Monitors Blue set I've only seen two total sales of any card, with one card currently listed. And the blue Magic Johnson outsold the gold /10 at auction. |
