The LeBron All Kings mock up slaps.

The checklist runs 68 pages… ppl gonna get murdered on this if topps prices like they have been this year.. will see.
|
I’m excited to see how they gouge and screw this up. Fun times!
|
In. Maybe for a case if it's an option. I generally don't even like paper but this is looking sweet as long as the PR isn't absolutely insane
edit: 68 page checklist.....spoke too soon |
Lol Arrives TBD
|
Am utterly shocked by the fact that they decided to start the "throwback" cards with the 1980 design....one year before they stopped producing basketball cards.
What are they going to do in 27-28....use a baseball card design? Why didn't they simply start with the 1970 design instead of the 1980 design, thus allowing them to go through all of Topps 70's basketball card designs. |

Preorder Oct 3. Then the fun game of fanatics holding your money hostage until god knows when they decide to actually ship. The classic Fanatics free loan system. |
I'm excited, I guess? fanatics taking over isnt anything to go write home abt lol

The monopoly starts now.

Here's a reasonable question (I think..??).
Though Topps' rights to sell/market/distribute, licensed NBA cards did not commence until today, could they legally/actually begin the physical printing processes, prior to today...?? I ask this, simply for the fact that we've been given a TBD, release date. Seeing as they've been outta' the licensed-NBA game for a decade, plus, I'd have figured that they would've provided us with a definitive (at least, anticipated?) street date? If they were only just authorized to fire-up the printers, at midnight, it could be some time until we see these hit the shelves! Perhaps one of our lawyers are versed in manufacturing law and/or trademark rights, etc.....??? |

They have Ty Jerome on the Cavs. He signed with the Grizzlies on June 30.

I’m ready and this will sell out quickly!!!

I was curious to see if they would use the same design as baseball or do something exclusive to basketball. It varied in the past. Some years they did the same design. Some years they did different.
I suppose this means the base design will always be the consistent across all three sports (including Football when they get it). No opinion on it either way. Just something I was curious about. |
I don't mind the design of the cards. What i do mind is the absolute ass kicking my bank account will take when I see how much a box is going to cost.

I'm guessing it was the same here. |

So we're saying Fanatics dropped the ball bc they had years to plan for this. I've said it in other threads, but they should have had some kind of MASSIVE promotion last night/this morning. -Rip Night events all over the country/world -Bring out as many athletes/celebs as you can -One free pack/person at any card store -Giveaways for 24 hrs on social media -new Topps NBA commercials on all MLB playoff games today and the NFL game tomorrow (can even tease the NFL stuff coming in the spring) -Release a Retro set that shows 2009 rookie in action from their rookie year, instead of the upclose head shots most of them have. The list is endless. I doubt there were hard restrictions on marketing/promo. More likely, Fanatics didn't care because they know we'll gobble up whatever they put out, regardless if they hype it up or not. |
Looks fun but it's going to be a lot of filler. Given the history, should the urge to buy be tempered bc of Chrome? Or are we just gonna go for it :)

I think the main concern with Chrome is the potential price point. If it's reasonable, let the good times roll. |

So the cards have been in production a while and signed by players. |
It's flagship Topps, nobody should be pumping, but of course they will.
Now if they did something cool like make it like the 09 release with Chrome parallels /999, refractors /500, golds /50 as a "chrome preview" along with gold border numbered cards and black numbered parallels that would be cool, but of course they didn't do that. Base parallel to death. Starting off just as expected. |
Are all autograph cards hard-signed? I hope so.
|
I hope to pick up a Spurs Wembanyama auto. Other than that, Fanatics is not gonna get a dollar out of me.
Edit: By the way, the checklist looks strong. I am sure the usual cabal of grifters will profit immensely. |
I won’t pretend I’m not excited for this.
