It looks like Funko is heading towards bankruptcy. I wonder if they'll end up going under?

Also curious if anyone would purchase the brand and keep putting out Funko Pops on a smaller scale. A big company like Hasbro might be interested.

Honestly, I really miss Wacky Wobblers, the more traditional bobble heads that Funko put out for years before they came up with Pops.

This right here explains the whole situation:

"There is also the broader problem of Funko’s own universe. The endless waves of licensed figures once looked like a strength, covering every corner of pop culture from Marvel to Stranger Things. Now there is a sense of saturation. Collectors have only so much room, and the constant releases may be wearing people out."

I collected Funkos pretty heavily prior to Covid, I enjoyed the chase, going to different stores, trying to find the ones I wanted or chases for trade bait.

But they got greedy...
Pops that were rare/valuable plummeted cause Funko decided to re-do the pop 40 different ways.. Different pose, different uniform, throw some sprinkles on it, etc etc etc.

Luckily the price point was low when I bought, so I should be able to get my $8 on most of them when I slowly sell them on eBay, but man, some people are in deep...

Beanie Babies all over again.

I love them, but they take up too much space. I prefer sports cards

what Funko has done is pretty much what Fanatics is doing now.

My rule to myself is that when I got to the point where I can't see all of the ones I've purchased, it was time to get rid of some of them.

At this point, if one comes in or is coming in, one has to go out...
And the sale funds go towards the purchase price...

I have about 60 or so of them that have been sitting in a box for YEARS. Not sure what to do with them at this point. I know some are fairly rare so donating them is out of the question.

I would suggest checking eBay sold listings, anything that has any value to it, I'd put it in a plastic protector and put it away...

Anything under $10, best time of year to donate them to a children's hospital or something along those lines...

I buy a lot of these for Toys for Tots.
