Yes, back in 1998 I placed an ad in the old SCD magazine looking for 'rare Peyton Manning cards' and got a phone call from someone who had a bunch I wanted and he wanted me to Western Union him the money and I did and never heard from him again.

When I 1st joined the card forums you had a send 1st policy for your first 5 trades or so. The trade was cards on my end and Paypal/cards on the other end. Being new I sent them my cards. They sent their cards but no money. When the mod asked them when they were sending the money....they just left the site all together.
