Something to note here, both Max magnetic holders have had the adhesive fail on the magnets. It's the only holder to have the magnetic adhesive fail and the holders now have to be taped together or they just fall apart. Technically I can just glue them back in place but that's not the point.

The blue Stabilo Ohpen is what Topps uses, but I'm going to stick to black autos after seeing this.

Good morning sleepyheads, week 8. That Blue Sharpie hardly identifiable at this point.

Pretty shocking to see how quickly the ink started fading when the cards / papers are exposed to sunlight. And it looks like the light is starting to damage even the cards themselves, am I understanding that right?

All of my cards sit in boxes inside a cabinet, but I’ve debated about a wall display or something. But that looks off the table at this point.

Yep, looks like some chrome cards are starting to fail and/or separate. The card stock ink fading on some of the paper cards is really bad too. The north facing Heritage card doesn't even get any real direct sunlight, sun comes up in the east and this time of year is down quickly in the west. So all that damage is just from some natural daylight.


If you display stuff definitely don't do autographs, I've had a couple cards and baseball on display in a room since 2018-19. The cards blue ink has darkened and look awful and the autographed baseball which was done in blue ballpoint now looks like a faded thin black auto. No direct sunlight whatsoever, just in a room I don't even spend much time in.
