Looks like a single teammates YG is on the checklist as well as your boy and mine [B]TUSKY![/B]

How much will Schaefers YG open at?

-Macky Celebrini Fanimation should be big.
-No one huge on the outburst retro YG list.
-Probably still won’t be worth a ton being Barkov but White House Visit card odds are insane 1-75,000 packs in hobby lol

Defensemen are hard to value........ I think he settles out this year at where Demidov is. Makar YG 10s are 650, i dont think he will be above that long term.

I can see that although I haven’t kept up with Demidov prices. Misa been playing well too interesting to see where he starts at toi

My question is, will Matthew Schaefer's YG card be a bigger hobby smash than Connor Bedard's was. Or Demidov, or Kaprizov for that matter. I don't intuitively know hockey as deeply as I know baseball.

Schaefer's stuff has been outpacing Demidov in the few things they are both in so far. I think that continues somewhat with his YG.

I also think Kindel will have a strong market for his YG as well. Everything of his I got from OPC paper sold strong. Wouldn't be shocked if he's #2 in the release.

Won’t come close to big as Bedard, imagine Wemby in basketball or you said baseball imagine Paul Skenes, products gotta sell still so will always be next big thing but the names I mentioned people not even into those sports knew these guys, random guys outside hockey aren’t bringing up Schaefer for the most part.

As Butcher said he could outpace Demidov, also won’t be competing with Celebrini since prices are now out of control so could see some money going Schaefers way. Kaprizov felt like more of a slow burn, I think Schaefer could outsell him initially, but down the line who knows

If you really want a truckload might be best waiting until next year. Huge hype rookie again in Gavin Mckenna.

Do you think the hype will get slowed at all if Stenberg goes #1 instead? Depending on team, very good chance McKenna goes 1, but if he doesn't does that temper any expectations?

The McKenna hype seems to be fading a bit.

I mean it’ll all come down to play at the end of the day, if he goes first or second but *hypothetically” is putting up two points a game and Stenberg none the hype is back. Doesn’t take much, look at Bedard when he slowed down abit everyone acted like his career is over lol or vice versa took what a month for Celebrini to become “face of NHL” despite not having anything like a bad rookie season, it’s all about the most recent memory. Demidov went fifth, even though I wouldn’t say he had a “hype train” necessarily.

Definitely don’t see it going like Shane Wright who was universal #1 in most mocks till near draft day, went fourth and never really made much of a hobby dent. Personally speaking I wouldn’t be loading up on a defenceman led-YG class or Mckenna if I was holding boxes, it would of been Bedard/Celebrini but even if it’s died down abit id bet a couple hundred that despite his great year (Schaefer) Mckenna will still overshadow anyone from this year when it comes to value/attention next year.

McKenna will be next year.

Essentially this class is going to be sandwiched between Bedard/Celebrini on one side and McKenna the other. So this may get a little overshadowed in the future, even with a possibly generational defenseman.

The Demidov canvas though is cool

If Schaefer scores 30 goals as an 18 year old that would be historic and no rookie Defenseman had ever score 20. He might be Ray Bourque and the Islanders are rapidly becoming good. The Blackhawks have done Bedard wrong, he might have to leave them like Tavares did with the Islanders.

If I recall, the Rookie Defenseman record for Goals is 23 by Leetch. By an 18yr old then yes, none have scored 20 until now
