MAILDAY what should have been amazing, but was not..
 

I finally got 2 nice pulls I have been waiting on from Panini, the Dirk is from over a year ago (#1/20) and the Kobe from november. The kobe which I thought, as per the card says "Jumbo Jersey Prime Signature" /5 was no more than the most bland 2 color patch. ARE YOU SERIOUS? A white and one purple strip patch for what is suppose to be one of the better hits of the entire product? I was so excited to get this as a PC card (my favorite player, never had or pulled an auto except this.) Now that the patch SUCKS I think it is going on the ebay, anyone have any SV thoughts? The dirk is mine, really like it.

cut the top of the "2" diecut off and you have a 3 color patch!

card looks just fine - you received what you were supposed to. Why #@#@#@#@#@#@ and complain?

i'm clearly not that unhappy, but i've pulled/own/seen so many amazing patches numbered way higher than /5 from Panini and not, and its KOBE!!

That Dirk is gorgeous! A little disappointing on the Kobe but still a nice card. I think some of these RPA redemptions made expectations too high.

His expectations were high probably because of cards like this...still a nice card u got but I can see your disappointment...

Is the dirk for sale ?

i realized they sent the wrong card! my redemption was for the jumbo prime materials signature, which should be the huge rectangle swatch, not the jumbo prime number materials auto which is what they sent me. i left word with panini yesterday, for those who have PM'ed me. The dirk is not for sale, it is being framed and put in my living room. kinda have a theme going with auto photo's

Unreal. Even Panini gets confused with all their similiar sets. Looks like I'm not the only one.

whats the world coming to? people complaining when you get a kobe patch auto /5? although i do understand being disappointed in the patch and its unacceptable for panini to send out the wrong redemption card, keep us posted if they exchange it for the right card and if you get a nicer patch. not trying to attack you either, i too find faults in stuff when i shouldnt, its just amazing how we perceive things today. imagine 10 years ago getting that card.....

I would be ECSTATIC to ever pull that kind of card...Not all of us can pull 8 break patches, let alone a Kobe auto so be happy.....

I'm pretty sure he was ecstatic to pull the redemption and I think anyone (whether they admit it or not) would be hoping to land a sick patch while waiting for a [U]jumbo[/U] prime redemption...of course it can be anything, but most would hope to get a nice patch with multiple colors and maybe even a logo patch if really lucky. Just put yourself in his shoes..yes its awesome to pull a card like that and I'm sure he's happy to have it, but most would get excited while waiting and sometimes even subconsciously build their expectations for a nice patch.

fully agree, its just sad that weve come to the point where we get dissapointed in a kobe patch auto /5.

i have a redemption for the same Dirk, but the status on mine has not been updated in months even tho i asked about it twice in the last 2 months. come on, panini...

3 years ago a Kobe /5 would absolutely be nothing to complain about. Now that Kobe probably has over 100 autograph's in every Panini product his auto is just not that valuable. I 100% agree with the OP. A patch/auto /5 should have a patch that is just crazy and sick. That patch he got would have been good on a patch/auto /25.

Come on guy's... Really? He is not complaining that he got a Kobe auto. He is complaining about a card that is a case hit, /5, and a patch. I have seen better patches on his non-autographed patches /25 and /49.
