Panini Black = death blow to Panini! (a few gripes as well)
 

Ok so there are some things that I have been wanting to get out in the open here.
The autos in all of Paninis so called "products"!
Ok in the Timeless Treasures set the rookie autos are not on card they are sticker autos and yet people call them "on card" which makes no sense.
They are on fake leather which come on a sheet just like the other sticker autos that are signed then sent back then stuck to a card its #@#@#@#@.

Gold standard Panini tried to cram an auto into a small window.... WTF?
Still a sticker auto.

Panini Black= Same as gold standard. The autos are cut off all over the place why are people buying this?
Not to mention logoman /149? wtf is that?
Whats next? Base cards with logoman on them?

Panini black looks like a heroine adict shot up and said heeeeyyy this looks gooood mannn. No really this stuff is bad and how the hell do they think they are going to get 250$ a box? Really? Not shy from NT WITH REAL LOGOMAN.

I have no idea why they thought they needed to STUFF another Basketball product into the year but it looks like dog #@#@#@#@.

Stop blasting Kobe autos... If I get a kobe auto as a hit in a box.. I now feel let down. Panini Black has a NICE Kobe logoman auto and a few others... THATS IT.

250$ a box? Buy a hooker for 100$ and spend the other 150$ on the meds for the VD.... you will have a better time.

You do know he has nothing to do with Panini making these products right?
He is only the spokesperson for thend has nothing to do with what products they make. He does give all the feedback to the design te but what they do with it is on them.

Anyone could go and meet pros, open preview boxes, take trips around the delevopment areas, etc.

Panini Black Box: Worse Product Ever?

I actually think people are being over the top in their criticism.

What makes Black Box any worse than Gold Standard?

IMO the Black Box cards look [i]much[/i] nicer than Gold Standard.

Sure, the manufactured logomen are a bit of a con, but at least they look nice. The box price is crazy but the same can be said for every Panini product.

I just think that they should bring back lower price products into the hobby. Always good to bring in more new younger generation collectors. I will be sticking to singles for now even though i had a nice urge to bust some NT.

I did not like gold standard BUT it was a fresh idea for the most part and it was an ok product with a bit of a price gouge for what you get.

Now its 250$ a box with black cards and the same crap.
I dont give a #@#@#@#@ about a 3x patch of anyone esp with no auto.

The KD cards do look very nice and I even like the base cards and of course the chase cards are great as well but thats it. I do not want to collect any of the hits I have seen 15 boxes opened and I would not have kept ANY of them except the Rose base card.
At the 2 LCS up here they are over 300 a pack!!! 300 A PACK?????
The product looks rushed and it looks like they thought hey we have some sticker autos left over lets cram them into the POS product.

If you can come up with an argument as to where I am wrong I would be more then willing to debate this product from end to end.

UD and Panini need to be on the market at the same time. This sort of junk would not happen if Panini had competition.

COMPETITION is what we need, its why UD took advantage of customers and now Panini is doing the same thing but on a much worse and greater scale.

Panini Elite Black Box = an epic fail on an attempt to recreate UD BLACK...using the strong sell power of the name "BLACK" and "BLACK BOX"....

Agree. They even tried to throw the foreign country flags. I don't think I will even pick up any singles from this product as nothing has been compelling.

Gold Standard you buy for $132.95 and get 3 autos and 2 game used. Elite Black you buy for $250 and get 3 autos and 3 game used. I just don't understand why Elite Black costs so much. Also in Gold Standard you have a chance to pull actual gold cards and a slim chance to meet Kobe Bryant!

I just saw a video with a quad auto and its sooooo bad. 4 sticker autos and half of the names are cut off.
I feel bad for anyone who looks at the sell slip this stuff just makes me cringe.

NO ONE LIKES MANUPATCHES (or a small% do) NO ONE!
ESP OF A FLAG which bring me to the point that tha FLAG PATCHES LOOK LIKE CRAP.

What is up with the dual jsy cards that look like they came out of court kings?
What makes these cards even worse is they cut a square out right in the center of the player and put an auto there...........................................????????

Next the on card autos suck! Why on earth are they putting auto boxes (places to indicate to the player where the auto goes) that cover 1/3 the card??
What a sham of a product.
THIS IS NO MORE THEN 120$ box quality.. and THAT IS BEING MORE THEN FAIR.

Lastly for now I want the people who read this to understand that is is what Panini is all about.
PLEASE realize I valued this product and only this product and used prior products to compare vs the price point.
If this was a 100$ -120$ box I would say it was a decent product.

Panini seems to have this idea that they can produce 100 products in a year and cram them down our throats for w/e reason and they have every right to do so. I for one will not buy this crap until something has changed. There is no reason for it.
To the people who say well its ok and its the second year.. WRONG.... as a business you must take your plan and evaluate it over and over and over. There is a core that you must follow but everything else can and will need to be changed and updated.
Panini has made no such effort as you can see with this product. There are a ton of fan ideas and a ton of press from customers (like the forums here) to data mine what customers want.
SOOOOO why are they not doing it?
Why do the continue to make garbage and lastly why do we keep buying it? (rhetorical questions by the way).

Panini I hope you sink like the Titanic or make a HUGE change.
Stop makeing drool galleries that no one likes or looks at and spend time on the final product.

back when there was UD and topps you would get about 6-8 hits out of an 80 dollar box

I have a feeling people at Panini are not card collectors or card sellers but people in suits who think if they print cardboard people will buy it. Panini has no clue what is good and what is bad, they got lucky with National Treasures last year and got smart and kept it the same this year so it would sell itself.

One quick example of what I mean is last year Panini advertised Elvin Hayes as a case hit, now to anyone from the outside looking in Elvin Hayes was a top 50 player and should be considered a great autograph, however to us card collectors pulling an Elvin Hayes autograph from a $90 pack of cards sucks! Panini still has not picked up what collectors want and Black Box is the last case until National Treasures 2012 that I preregister

That's just it, there are people that will buy anything Panini puts out. Why would they feel the need to change if people are still buying their products?
Plus they have no competition to force them to improve.

I agree with everything you said except the criticism on timeless treasures. Getting autos on leather is NOT a sticker auto. It's not on card either, but its much closer to on-card than it is a sticker auto.
