Heads up on Topps Finest Insert Parallels

Topps put these in late and didn't stamp them but they are limited. Same numbering system as the normal parallels.

Green /199
Gold /99
Red /25
Purple /5

The numbering is dizzying...golds to 50 or 59, oranges to 99 or 10, die-cuts to 10 and a buncha other stuff. I like me my color, but MAN that's a lot.

So much for purple being the retail only refractors (in many other products).

Are we sure the purples are /5

I just hit a Ortiz Finest Moments purple and 2 are on eBay already

They're not selling on eBay like they're out of 5:

The Strasburg pulled in $45 BIN...that seems to be an out of 5 price...

i think the purple insersts (moments, foudations ect)
have a print run more like around 20-25

cause
82*100*5 =41000
41000/96= 427 /17 (average insert set size) =25

I think they are to 5 and probably are just not selling well right now. I think once people really realize how scarce they are the prices will pick up.

armyatc22 10-17-2011 06:18 PM

Just odd that 3 of the 5 have been pulled in a week

In my five cases, I pulled a handful of the purple inserts... but I only pulled 1 card that was actually stamped /5.

I think the purple inserts are probably closer to what NBK is saying.

Probably /10 at the very minimum but most likely /25.

Topps is always trying to do stuff like this. If they had time to make the cards, why not stamp them. Do we REALLY believe they are "late editions?"

Now, I believe their value should climb as mentioned, but not having the stamped # truly hurts the value. However, I think a Purple Jeter insert is probably worth near the $100 range.

Maybe only the Foundations ones are /5?

I don't know where BaseballCardPedia.com gets its info from but they list all of the purples as being #'d/5.

2011 Finest - BaseballCardPedia.com

I still think prices will go up after the amount of product being opened slows a bit and people realize they aren't as common as once thought.

Zacky1053 10-17-2011 07:43 PM

Like I said before, leave it to Topps to number EVERY OTHER PURPLE SET in the product out of 5 but make these different.

Abracadaver 10-17-2011 10:08 PM

I pulled a Robinson Cano purple that is not stamped. I hope its out of 5.
