Roy to Retire

Just saw he is going to announce a medical retirement. Too bad.

sunsfan8 12-09-2011 10:07 AM

dang you beat me to it:o i hope he can come back he has talent

Sad.

Another TrailBlazer that can't stay healthy.

That team had a ton of potential. Never to be reached, mostly due to injuries. :(

This sucks, he's the same age as me, 27, and having to retire at this age would put me in depression...

gizmo675675 12-09-2011 12:02 PM

Bitter sweet but glad to hear this for the sake of the Blazers.. Thank you Roy for all your hard work.

bigcwd2000 12-09-2011 12:25 PM

Hate to hear this. He was an amazing player just a year or so ago before the injury. Sad to see an athletes career end due to injury.

suki24 12-09-2011 06:37 PM

Now would be the time to unload all your Roy cards if not done so already.

ninjacookies 12-09-2011 06:47 PM

Kid had unlimited potential before all of the injuries...and probably one of the nicest guys in the league. Truly saddening.

And ironic, considering he basically almost lead the Blazers deep into the playoffs with his late game antics last year.

tupark82 12-09-2011 06:54 PM

roy will be missed. he was one of my favorite players

GoClips! 12-09-2011 08:47 PM

This is as sad a story as I've heard in awhile. He had Top 5 in the league type of talent, and he never even hit his peak. He's a great leader and person. Sad day for all NBA fans, to miss out on the things that B.Roy could do for the game.

aros13 12-09-2011 08:51 PM

The blazers can't catch a break, this guy could have been top 5 one day.

jp98 12-09-2011 08:54 PM

This is the saddest NBA retirement. Just a terrible way to have to retire.

Ok, and I will be the a-hole to ask, just because I am curious, but is this good or bad for his Autos? Honest question.

longhrncardshop 12-09-2011 09:36 PM

this guy was a beast on the court... love watching him play

The Madbacker 12-09-2011 09:36 PM

That is too bad. Injuries strike again.

aros13 12-09-2011 10:00 PM

Game 4 of the DAL VS POR playoff series will go down as one of the best last gasps ever. i really suggest people watch this video, this is what roy did on awful knees.
