Most profitable way to sell my collection?
I primarily collect baseball cards, but over the years I have dabbled in football and opened a couple cases/boxes here and there. I have around 7000 total cards, with about 1600 refractors and 5400 base. All of the base is from 08-10 (primarily 08 Bowman/Chrome), and all of the refractors are from 05-10 (Topps chrome, Bowman Chrome, Finest, etc.). I also have a few higher end autos ($30-150; Sam Bradford Contenders, Jamaal Charles Autos, Schaub, etc.) as well.
I have tried breaking them down into team lots (base/inserts/refs) and selling them, but there seems to be no interest in those. Is my best bet just to try and sell all of the base/inserts together, and then just sell the autos separately, or put the autos in with the base and sell everything? Any opinions are much appreciated. |
I'd like to see what kind of Charles stuff you have.
And to sell the other 7000 cards, I normally break them up by teams when I sell mine. EDIT: Just realized it isn't working for you. Try COMC on some of the better inserts? |
I sent about 100 of the refractors to COMC just to get a little bit of cash flow, but the rest of them are probably $1 or less, and not really worth sending to COMC after fees.

Does your LCS buy? Or give you like a store credit for something? |
I wish. The card shops is GA are terrible.

Lots of ways to sell them. Not worth the time /what effort on most though.

Dang, sucks you didn't buy bowman chrome baseball instead...you could have probably been sitting on much bigger money right now.
That being said, for the super low priced singles, your real only best bet is the team lots like you were doing. Unfortunately, if the demand isn't there, then most likely it isn't even worth your time, especially considering all the ebay fees. |
I have the same problem. Lots of boxes busted leaves lots of base laying around. If team lots don't work, try player lots. If you get the rookie cards from each set and combine them with their cards of the following years together, you can get some good sets and move more, faster. That's the hope at least.

Try selling in a giant lot, like 300 per.
