Official Orioles Fan Thread
How many of us are on here?
14 and 8! |
I am not an Oreos fan, I think they are a terribly run franchise, with more problems than solutions but my favorite player Nick Markakis is an Oreo, and I have him and Adam Jones for a long time in fantasy so I do follow the O's.

They played like crap today.

This thread will end badly in a few days/weeks...

What position do you play? |
At least this year, the team still has life at the End of April :)!

I'm Nick Markakis. |

The Orioles won because of an error. That's it. They couldn't do a damn thing for 8 and 1/3 innings. |

Doesn't matter, they still won! |
They are a terribly run franchise, that does not draft or sign free agents well. They have hope, but Dan Duquette is not the answer, and the fact Matusz and Britton are not healthy and the Orioles screwed up in Asia.
I mean, its just head shakingly bad |

Well, I'm done discussing sports with 12 year olds. |

I mean, its just head shakingly bad
This is not entirely true. They have Machado, Bundy & Schoop. Machado & Bundy are arguably the top 2 prospects in the minors right now done Harper & Trout were both promoted. That being said, the problem lies with ownership and the Angelos. Has had hand in too much. When your first two choices actively turn down the GM position that says something. I do agree that Dan duquette is not the answer though. |

I'm not 12, and winning is everything. No matter how it is accomplished, a win is a win. |

I wanted to put the asterisks in there and say excluding Bundy and Machado, I am not a Schoop fan. But both of those prospects fell to them. Matt Hobgood comes to mind, Billy Rowell etc. |
I'm a Chris Davis fan...

WOW...A game is 9 innings and it doesn't matter how bad you play if you have more runs at the end, you win. You have no logic at all behind your arguement. You think the Rangers or Yankees only win when they play good? You think the teams that play against them don't make errors? It's not always pretty but bottom line is you score more runs than the other team, and you win. BTW, I'm an O's fan. Adam Jones and Matt Wieters are my favorites. This thread could get ugly soon but I'm not a fair weather fan. I saw the good teams in the mid 90's and I saw the crap they put out throughout the 2000's. |

Matt Hobgood comes to mind, Billy Rowell etc.
We don't say that name around here. That was a horrible draft. I throw up every time I see that name and then see Tim Lincecum get picked right AFTER him! That's right, they passed on Lincy for Rowell. So, for future reference, let's not use that name |
I'm an O's fan for awhile and 14-8 is nice and all but what will they look like come September
|

I'm enjoying it while i can. In september we will bring back this thread and laugh at the Orioles' awful season. |
What a game and ending today! Bringin' back that good ol' ORIOLES MAGIC babyyy!!! haha :flex:
|
I'm going to as many games as possible right now so I can enjoy a winning record. They have won a few they should have lost, and lost a few they should have won, so those games are balancing out.
They are scoring runs, and the bullpen is looking better than it has in past years. If they can stay around .500, I'll keep going to games, b/c sadly, .500 would be a huge accomplishment. |
Also helps that Camden Yards is beautiful, and I wish they'd tear Fenway down and put something like taht up. Loved going there last year
|
Still going strong. Nice extra inning win tonight!
|
You know Eddie and Cal are sitting in their living rooms saying, "It's about time!!" haha
14 years of futility has to end sometime.......the Law of Averages SAYS SO!!! Baltimore Orioles 2012.......let's go boys- bring BACK that ol' ORIOLES MAGIC!!! :flex: |
