Another Fleer Retro thread...just getting some opinions...
 

So everyone knows the Fleer Retro cases are due to release next couple months...so does a $3000 investment in a couple cases worth it or would you guys spend it on "other" cards (singles) or "other" boxes ($3000 worth of various years)....where's the most value....

is there a link for info on fleer retro anywhere? i haven't seen anything about it?

Price on it is ridiculous now because of the hype. When the product was first announced, it was like 50% of the price now. Reseller and distributors are just trying to make money. I think at the original price, it would have been a great product, but now...

Fleer Retro is like the really smoking hot friend of your girlfriend. You want to ask her out, if she says yes you are freaking loving life. But if she says no you're bound to be buying a lot of Kleenex for the next few months.

Alex...I'm not following....haha....if she says yes (buying the cases) then you'll be stoked, but if she says no (not buying cases)...I will be regretting it?? That's how I'm reading it...lol!

I agree...I'm on the fence about it. I'm thinking that if Upper Deck is really on the verge of going under that this would be the product to do it with. Hype has created a ridiculous price for cases and if they don't deliver, they would've already gotten their moneys worth.

And then there's the idea of having redemptions in the product and not delivering on those before they shut their doors...that would be unfortunate, but it is Upper Deck. And with a Exquisite football release, they will definitely be seeing their money!!

I was trying to say: Retro is either going to be awesome as heck. But look out for that bomb, cause if it sucks it's going to cost you a ton.

What's the price at? I know a guy selling for $100 a mini box. Thinking of picking one up (not right now, but a little later on :)).

The product will have ZERO redemptions ... that is the reason why this product wasn't out when originally listed.

$100 per mini box...I would definitely pick up a couple at that price...they're almost 3x that, at least they will be at release.

Zero redemption is not an excuse for delay a product for FIVE MONTHS, and we all know we not buy this product for autos.

What is the thing to look for in this product?

When they're awaiting redemptions, it's not UD's fault ... it's the players they are waiting on. They promised no redemptions (which many people complain) so now we have to wait...I am not bitter at all about the wait ... whatever has to be done, has to be done ... they are actually listening to the concerns of the hobbyists!

The new "pmg" cards, which is pretty much driving the hype.

PMGs and the rare retro'd inserts. There is also going to be an Autographics set. Plus some 1/1 MJ buy-back inserts that are auto'd.

There is no checklist out yet, and they will be in NCAA uniform, but they will be using the EXACT same technologies that were used on the old inserts. No cheap-o remakes! Should be cool! There will be Green/Blue/Red PMGs (I think /10, /50, /100 ... but not sure)

Sounds like a fun break, I doubt I will buy some but maybe will buy single packs.

I was just hoping my PC player was on it. A PMG of Ed Davis would be awesome! but I highly doubt it!!! haha
