That is an incredible deal for both sides. The Knicks can afford to pay more cash for Nash to convince him to come here. They are also trying to get rid of Douglas for basically nothing, and Fields would have to pick signing in PHX since he is not on the Knicks. Jerome Jordan and Gadzuric have non guaranteed contracts, so they can be waived before the season and neither team would have to pay a penny. The Suns could decide to keep either or both and pay them a very small salary. Nash would have to choose NY and Fields would have to choose PHX for this to occur. Tell me what is wrong because PHX is getting free players and getting a little money from NY and NY can pay Nash more to convince him to go to NY. |
Landry is the only real player in this trade but this probably helps the Suns financially. I know Douglas has 1 year left and pretty sure Gadzuric has 1 year left. Plus we don't know how much cash...
Look at the Nets offer for Joe Johnson. NO good player and its the Nets that are hesitant because it gives the Hawks a lot of flexibility. This is better than losing Nash for nothing to Toronto. |

Well for starters, it'd have to be a sign & trade & if the Knicks think that they'll get Nash for some money & the maybe that Fields signs there, they are more delusional then I give them credit for |

So basically they are giving away Douglas, Gadzuric, Jordan for Nash. I doubt he would sign for 3 mill and this could get him around 5-8 mill. That could be the deciding factor if he goes to NY or not.
|
lol...
I hope Nash goes to the Raptors instead of the Knicks... |

Just can't see him ending up at MSG. Moves Lin to the bench & makes the ole defense they play even uglier |
you're serious? this would be AMAZING for the bockers. landry hasn't shown he can play when melo is there. TD is a scrub. the rest of those guys...im not sure who jerome jones is lol...i think you meant jerome jordan...but either way. where do i sign?

Its a perfect fit for Lin to come off the bench, if he resigns. Nash would move the offense beautifully and he and Amare could reunite. Tyson and Nash would also be deadly on the pick and roll with Novak to kick out to and J.R. if he resigns. Then there is Melo in the late shot clock situations. With Lin off the bench, it would allow him to return to his attacking style which occurred during the climax of linsanity. Linsanity happened without Melo and Amare, remember. This would allow Lin to play with the second unit and let him attack more, which he did and give the second unit a much needed scorer. How could the defense be uglier, Lin is about equal to Nash at defense, but without as much NBA PG defense as Nash? Also when facing an elite PG, Shumpert would guard him and either Lin or Nash would guard the SG. |
This trade could make the Knicks watchable again. Gives them some stability and a much needed wise point guard. Landry Fields is a joke, he has shown us that. Toney Douglas flat out cannot shoot. This would be a great deal.

It's a pipedream. Nash aint playin for the knicks. As far as that trade,, all day, every day. I'l take nash for a few worthless pieces of garbage.. lol

i mean....we can hope can't we lol...does he really want to play for the raptors?? |
get rid of landry and douglas? sign me up!

That's a terrible trade..
Just because there's an ancient bonafide star involved, doesn't make it an even trade. Does anybody even think to remember the Carmelo trade? Look at what it did to the chemistry and the future outlook of this Knick's team. |
This trade looks fantastic for the Knicks, especially if Lin leaves (Hoops Rumors has Toronto possibly targeting Lin if they don't get Nash). Knicks lose a few small pieces and can pay Nash about $3.5 million more than they could offer as a MLE as a result. Definitely betters their chances at landing Nash.
And Nash/Melo/Amare/Tyson is not a bad four. Though SG would be...J.R. getting resigned? |

The knicks created this mess w the carmelo trade and took all the hard work that donnie walsh did n flushed it down the toilet, but thats the past...The knicks now how to work w what they got..I'l take nash, esepcially at the expense of giving up those players who's value = ZERO. I'd like Reymond felton back , as long as he gets his fat arse in shape.. He or nash would help wake Amare up w the pick n roll run the correct way.. Wait, then melo wouldn't get his 30+ shots. HMMMM lol  |
What a joke of a team... smh

really gotta get over that melo trade lol...did give up a lot. but they wouldnt have resigned wilson most likely...so you're talking about gallo and mozgov basically for melo...with a swap of raymond and chauncey obviously. which really isn't bad at all...and if all of that never happens, jeremy lin never happens because they wouldn't have been in the position of not having any players and reaching out in desperation to sign lin as a place holder / savior. really lin washes the previous years misfortune away because he really was a lucky strike for the knicks that had to have all of the things go the way they did for him to suit up for the bockers...thats a fact... either way, this supposed trade is completely different lol... |
What a joke of a team... smh
Their top 3 are paid just as much as the Heat's top 3...just Melo/Amare/Tyson < Lebron/Wade/Bosh. Throw Nash in there though, and things are getting more interesting... But yeah the Knicks roster is crazy. Only 6 guaranteed contracts and only 3 of those above $3 million (of course those top 3 take up about 95% of the cap, but that's why they have Bird Rights and MLE's and the like). |
could melo even play with nash? would it work?
