4 boxes of Olympics and Loose Packs, Blank card?
 

Bought 3 boxes from one LCS Unfortunately the Lochte was damaged as well as the McFadden, so i'm sending those in to Topps.
Also strange box with the Lochte had a BLANK GLOSSY card? anyone get one of these before? 1/1? lol.

then bought the last box of Olympics and a few remaining backs of the 2nd to last box from LCS! Boom. PHELPS! Great centering in my opinion...

a damaged Lochte might be safe to keep (see the other threads about returns to topps)

I've gotten my 2 damaged cards back from topps in about 2 weeks...

you got replacements? did they replace them with the same mint autos? or send you different autos?

1 was auto, 1 was olympic patch...both corner damage, both sent back good as new...same cards

Dooby, the blank thick cardboard is put into packs to mess with people who cherry-pick packs out of open boxes. It's to camouflage the memorabilia packs. I remember buying packs years ago that all had a blank in there, if they didn't have a relic card, so all of the packs would be the same thickness. Can't remember which packs that was. Of course, I can't even remember last week, so that's to be expected. :D

You need to get that Lochte in the mail ASAP to get it back for the Olympics. Or just sell as-is. What kind of grade would you give it?

Those are decoys, Topps doesn't use Decoys.

Yeah, as Phil said, Topps is good about replacing the damaged corner hits. I hosted a case break, and we had 6 or 7 hits with damaged corners, so it's a known issue. I opened a few packs at my LCS and pulled a damaged Singleton base auto. They replaced it with the same card within a week.

to be honest with you...the blank card COULD be one that was supposed to be a redemption for one of the 1/1 cut autos

What is the damage on the Lochte? I can't tell anything from the scan.

Its damage to the bottom right.. its creased and bent but its not as significant as some of the other autos...

Unless you plan to keep the Lochte...it's too late to send it back. I would just sell it as-is and make sure you put "damaged" everywhere to make sure people know before they bid.

you probably won't get it back in time to sell during the olympics (maximum profit)...

i'll probably get the same amount for a damaged lochte as a mint lochte after the olympics... also i may just keep it...so i don't think i'm losing either way.

Ok, in case you are still interested in the blank card, Word of God from Topps customer service: It's a security measure, it has a sensor embedded in it. So, definitely not a decoy card. My bad. :D

Its definitely not a security card sensor.. you can tell if somethinf is embedded...
Im not breaking retail here. These are hobby boxes.
When has anyone ever pulled security sensor cards in hobby boxes ..

And customer service is wrong again! Oh well, the mystery deepens.
