Break Now: CASES of ELITE & STERLING

okay...well I broke Sterling Saturday...entire break is on ebay already, uggg
my player selection was poor, especially when you see the player selection Beckett got...and of course they hit HUGE cards... my decent players were all GU no autos

I DID HIT 3 1/1s which is nice...
the only card sold so far was the 1/1 wood david wright for $170, so rest is up...

I am just getting around to busting elite...I was crazy when I cut back on my order from Chris...I did so the same day after I saw how many other things i'd be busting, and then someone mentioned it would be 3 GU & 1 AUTO a box, so I cut my order to 2 cases, I should've ordered 10, not just to flip, but ripping this is making a killing at 5 autos MINIMUM per box, wow! and many low #d, and several NOT in BDP

So, I got 2 cases from Chris, and went to local shop, and bought 19 of his 20 boxes (1 already gone)

[I]I just broke the first 1/2 of case 1 from Chris...
3 hot boxes of 10 so far, each had 7 autos & 3 gu...

Boy I was wrong about this one and am man enough to admit it. Although who could have predicted the way above the listed average content per box. The breaks I have read have been fantastic and I am jealous. So jealous in fact that I just went to the blowout site and bought me a case. With the coupon and my 1% back paypal card I came out about the same as if I had called it in.

Come Wednesday when Chris gets back the price of this stuff is going to JUMP! I figured if I was going to get it I had better get it now. My friend who owns the card shop said his flew out like it had wings and looks for the same thing. I will get my case Friday and I am on vacation next week so I will be like a kid in a candy store. Good luck Brent and enjoy, I know I will.

i am back to breaking, sorry was gone

don't feel bad scott, we all miss judge new (or returning) products...
i missed milestones this year (but was semi-retired then and cutting back that's why i didn't do topps 1 too)
but this always looked like a winner from day one, and i am glad DLP got it right, and even upped the content to ensure it's long-term value, yes this should be a $2500 TODAY!

Brent do you feel the same about Americana? I have a case of that coming and I got in at a very good price. I feel that it should be a good break as it is a one of a kind product and really has no competition. That is as long as the content is good and maybe DLP will allocate it and crank up the content on this one as well.

curious

about what you guys think about the Americana too.....I'm not sure ? of course you all do it for sales (any collectors ? ) and I just sell extras or inserts I dont want. what about the Milestones......?? I started a few of the ones from that, then sold them....they did fairly well, but not spectacular. one other question/thought......this years triple threads BB........for all the effort ( I've completed the au/gu base ), there doesn't seem to be too much hoopla about it in general......correct ?

thanks....Steve

from a strictly sellers point of view, Americana will be a SLAM DUNK !!!!!

be skeptical about a "sophomore" product. most never live up to the initial release. though, this should do well if you're one of the first to get it.(speaking of milestones).

IMO, triple threads is mosly a novelty product (sophomore slump). the triple GU / Triple Relic lost it's appeal soon after the 07 release. in 06 it was exciting & new. in 07 it was compared too much with 06 & never gained steam.

I made money some decent money on half a case of milestones last year. However, I will be staying away this year; too much work and for what steelers mentioned.

BAMBAM 12-27-2007 12:53 AM

I avoided Milestones last year and will avoid again this year. I did really well with Triple Threads Baseball last year and look forward to it again this year. Maybe I just got REALLY LUCKY but I hit some great cards. Made a profit on my break AND still had 2 nice pieces left over for my own pc. Can't say that about too many high $$ products.
