is this a good trade?
 

someone wants to give me the steelers D for matt forte. in my league i have portis , lynch, and jonathan stewart. but start forte and portis. now if i give up forte, i would drop alt D and pick up who from the FA wire??? and who of the new rb or out of who i got now would you start with portis?

do not make that trade. Matt forte is a first round draft pick and defenses can picked up a lot cheaper than that. That would be a huge rip off

I would ask the third team in your league if they could do better. How is sproles and cadillac on the waiver wire?

Yeah you definately don't give up Forte for a defense. That's a big time rip off. Even if it's the Steelers. RBs account for a lot of points in fantasy compared to Defense. I'd pick up Sproles off the waiver though. It seems like he breaks one every game. SD has had so much great backup RBs, but can't keep them because LT (which of course isn't a bad thing, but injury prone these days). Don't make the trade. Just to be funny counteroffer your ATL defense for his Steelers defense and tell him to never make a dumb offer like that again.

I know you're a homer but even this is a no brainer. You cannot trade a top notch RB for a defense (well you CAN, but you would be dumb to).

You can play the matchups week to week on defense and usually score about as high as the top rated defenses (whoever plays the Rams is typically a good play, ditto for the Browns). You can't do that with RB/WR's nearlly as successfully. I wouldn't even trade Kevin Smith for Pittsburgh's D, let alone Matt Forte. Sounds to me like someone is hoping your fan loyalty to the Steelers clouds your judgment, and they get a 1st round caliber RB for the cost of a 7th-8th round defense.

[B]Terrible idea[/B] As others have already said, [B][I][U]NEVER[/U][/I][/B] trade a RB for a Defense, especially a guy who this year has gone Top 10 in many drafts.

My question is what size league has Sproles as a FA? I need to find a 6 team league it seems
