DirecTV and Versus
 

Not sure how many DirecTV viewers we have here, but you might be able to benefit from the ongoing Versus channel wars if you are a hockey fan since you won't be able to see the Versus games.

Call, tell them you are a hockey fan and are upset you can't get the games on Versus. You might be able to save a good % on Center Ice or whatever else they offer.

Has anyone done this? If so what did they say?

I had my Center Ice package dropped by 25% (saved $40).

Just remind them that you will be missing 10-14% of the games since any games on Versus won't be broadcast on other stations. The whole point of Center Ice is to have access to all the games so you aren't getting full value for your dollar.

I got free Center Ice for the year! Just complain and they'll give you anything...tell them you are dropping them if they don't get Versus back.

I've got to give this a try. I love DirectTV but am disappointed in Versus being dropped. If you're an MMA fan, you're also missing out on WEC (Urijah Faber, Leonard Garcia, Cowboy Cerrone, etc) on Versus.

Worked for me.... they credit my account $50 which is more than a 1/3 of the cost for the season.
