Flyers - Pens Today 3:00 P.M.
Smart move by the NHL to put these two together to FINALLY open up the season. T.V. ratings should be interesting. As could be expected the Flyers drew over 15,000 people just for an open practice on Thursday night so you know the locals will be tuned in for the opener. The league better hope people outside the local markets are still interested.
First few minutes of the game should be real interesting as well. Wanna see if guys are focused on playing hockey or are still looking for their pound of flesh, especially after the way game 6 went. |

This isn't the best matchup for the Flyers. IMO defense takes longer to get together than offense, and if Pitt has that high-wire act going it might be a long day.
|
and the better game will be the hawks kings, same channel same time
|
Can't wait until the REAL main event tonight...Blue Shirts/Bruins. It's Tukka's team now!
|
Penguins better hope it doesn't turn into a brawl again, our team is much bigger this year with Sestito, L. Schenn, and Foster added. Let's go Flyers!
|
Can't wait Go Flyers!!
I'll be forced to watch this game on the sketchy live streams online since I live in Wisco and they're gonna show the hawks kings game  Also flyers should have a banner ceremony for their first round playoff win over pens just so the pens have to sit through it, and so NBC knows the flyers actually won the series |

I can't wait for the REAL main event... Leafs/Habs. It's still Dion's team (sadly)! |
Is this the longest banner raising ceremony ever? Jeez...let's just play some hockey!!!
|
Where in the hell is the Flyers - Pens game? Not even on Root!

They've never done it before, that's why there seems to be some confusion. |
2-0 flyers looking a lil sloppy on D
|
Pierre McGuire spending 30 seconds praising Crosby for not closing his puck in his own zone.
Waita go crosby, you read a ******* memo |
Flyers def had the momentum in that period, as a pens fan I hope they are better at closing games then last year . Good game so far though!

and that ceremony really screwed up the kings and the hawks were motivating it. BTW how awesome is crosby today, oh wait its just McGuire kissing his rear |
The real game of the night Caps Bolts is about to begin.

Ha, yeah. Enjoying seeing Montreal give Jean Beliveau a standing ovation right now, along with other Hab greatest. Now it's time for an ass-kicking courtesy of the Toronto Maple Leafs. |
Defenitely not the same Flyers team as last year. Yeah they were missing Briere, but that team is much weaker missing Jagr, JVR, Carle, etc. The Bruins are the team that I am worried about.
|
Flyers came out flat for most of the first period (again) then just missed on some opportunities and had Craig Adams block a sure goal in the crease. If Bryz plays solid like he did yesterday and they get Briere back to help on the power play they'll be fine.
Bruins were really impressive last nite. Ranger are no joke this year and they took it to them pretty good. Shawn Thornton and Cris Kelly show once again why they're so valuable to a team. Wish they would do something about that stupid rule with the puck being in the goalies glove and obviously over the line not being a goal. Video shows the puck going into his webbing then the glove from palm to tip of webbing crossing the line. WTF ? The only place the puck could be when hidden is either in the palm or webbing so there isn't any assuming at all, it's common friggin sense. |
FLyers played so sloppy there in the 1st period. The defense and goaltending was very good for the rest of the game but it hurt to see the Flyers go 0-5 in powerplay situations.
