The Official Arizona Diamondbacks Fan Thread
so I saw someone put up a thread like this for another team and thought it looked like a cool idea. I'd like to see it have kind of a dual purpose. First, for any general discussion about the team, games, how things are going etc., and second for people to post up scans of new PC pickups they've gotten of D'Backs players as it's always cool to see new cards come in!
I know there are some D'Backs fans on these boards so lets get a nice thread going! |
1. This team sucks compared to what it could have been.
2. Towers will not be done until he runs the team into the ground. 3. IPK's struggles are normal but have been escalated by the fact that the outfield has no range. |

They're right up there near the top of the division right now. Granted we're only a month into the season but for the most part they've been playing fairly well. There are also still some injury issues that I think are hindering the team a bit. Gregorius missing a week after getting plonked in the head and Aaron Hill not being in the lineup hurts as well. I do think all things considered the team is better now than it was a couple years ago. It will be interesting to see how well they hold up through the course of the season though. |

They made some really good offseason moves and while I believe that the Braves got the better end of the deal in the Upton/Prado trade the fact of the matter is that J-Up would not be playing this well if he was still with the D-Backs. Too much bad blood with Towers shopping him every year. Martin Prado may be struggling right now but as a Braves fan, I am almost certain that by the end of the year he will be hitting around .300 like he has every year (except once). Prado is a perfect fit for this years team and can play gold glove defense at ANY position (except catcher) and he's real gritty, loves this game of baseball and a true team leader type. Paul Goldschmidt is going to have a breakout year, I just know it. Parra is playing really well, offensively and defensively. The D-Backs are doing real well for a team that has three of their everyday players on the DL (including quite possibly their best player). D-Backs will be scary when they have got Eaton, Kubel and Hill playing everyday. Only potential problem I can see is with their pitching. Kennedy is not throwing like an ace and Brandon McCarthy is just straight horrible. They also don't have an exclusive closer, too many blown saves. |
We have season tickets and sit 4 rows from the field in left field! I don't know if I can be called a diehard fan but my wife might say that she is.
We go to A LOT of games together. We've gone to 3 this weekend. |

That would have been an awesome season to have tickets! That must have been a lot of fun during the playoffs! I've never been to the pool. We've sat in a lot of places around the stadium, but never near the pool. It's usually a group who buys the pool. I would say our favorite seat was 1st row behind dbacks dugout, then our normal left field seats. We've sat near home plate even and we didn't like those as much as our left field bleacher seats, lol. |
To the poster above, I don't know how the other team's outfield is, but I think the Dbacks have a very strong outfield. Parra is a gold glover for a reason, Kubel is good in his own right. Marte, Pollock and Ross are decent but not real proven on the Dbacks.
The Dbacks like to trade all of their fan favorites for some reason. If that's true, Kubel will probably be traded next, lol |
pretty good first inning all around for the pitchers. hopefully it'll keep up. I always enjoy a good pitcher's duel!

Agreed, Cahill looks really good so far. Only 14 pitches thru first two innings. |

another 1, 2, 3 for Cahill. man I hope he can keep this up, the D'Backs REALLY need one of those guys in the front end of the rotation to step up and start shutting guys down. well I get to post the first "new PC pickup" pic :) I've been working pretty heavily on my Paul Goldschmidt PC but took a little detour last week and picked this one up. Hoping we might see him around mid-season if not sooner... 6/50 |

That right there was incredible! Saved at least one run |
I wish AJ Pollock would start every game and crush so I could sell my stash L:)
|
I'm a big Dbacks fan, and have gone to about 50 games the past couple years. I hope to keep the trend going this year!

bottom 6 and still scoreless...good ole' fashioned pitcher's duel indeed!
|
woohoo...HR! 1-0 D'Backs!
|
ok...good to see that Gibson isn't going to make the same mistake of leaving a pitcher in there too long. would love to have seen him try to finish out the shutout, but this is the right move. lock it down Putz!
|
Just made it back on time to see the ninth....please don't blow another game Putz!!!!
|
nice K there to Scutaro...now bring down the Panda!
|
*sigh* I think it's time to start looking for a new closer...
|
Getting the Kung Fu Panda out is no easy task...
...and just as I type that he smashes a two run shot In desperate need of a decent closer |
pretty bad when your starter throws 8 innings, gives up no runs, and doesn't get a W...

Taking Cahill out of the game was a massive mistake...especially when you have the worst closer in baseball |
