However, I soon realized that the serial numbering looked very familiar...too familiar :p

I went to go look at my other EJ lettermens that I have, and I was shocked to find this:

Unless my eyes deceive me, these cards are BOTH numbered 22/25? Yet, they're from the same set? The only other possible explanation I can think for this is if EACH letter is #ed out of 25, not the entire letterman set...

Each letter has its own numbering... You take whatever word they spell out multiply the number of letters by the print run of /25 in this case to find the total print run for their lettermens.. You gotta figure theres supposed to be one per box.. This wouldnt be possible under your assumption. Also if you look at any checklist it will note the entire lettermen print run for the whole set
