2011/12 contenders or rookie anthology?
 

Hey everyone,

New to the forum and Looking to buy a box in that $50-60 range and wanted to see what other people think or have had success with.

I am mainly looking for a Nugent-Hopkins auto or patch, but am also looking for which has the better hits.

Any feedback would be great.

Wouldn't put too much faith into this opinion. Go with Rookie Anthology.

I'm a fan of both, as they've both treated me well. I like the patch autos in contenders a whole bunch. The mem cards in rookie anthology are nice, but hey with either the odds aren't super high. Can't go wrong with either really.

Thanks so far, ordered the contenders from blowout since they were down to the final few left in stock. Will see how that treats me. Going to look into the checklist and see if anthology interests me just for the sake of ripping boxes.

I have only busted a few boxes of those. One contenders yielded a Nugent-Hopkins RPA /100 and another a Jonathan Toews Patch Auto /50?

Rookie anthology was only one box and nothing special. Either have chances for nice hits but a standard box can be disappointing. Not a shock with the price of a box.
Personally I'd go with Contenders from Blowout or a local fresh case.

EDIT: I see you got contenders, let us know how it went.

Ok, Box came yesterday but decided to hold off until today to open it.
Overall, pretty happy.
As a Rangers fan, I wasn't too thrilled that my big hit was Bryz, but it is still a sweet card. wish it had some color in the jersey!! lol

Pulled that same Bryz last year. Had nice color. From a Coyotes jersey though. Not too bad of a box too.

Is the bryz an sp?

Its surprising that NHL INK card is a sticker auto...

That's the perfect pic of Bryz on that card, it looks like he's 'fishing' one of the GA out of his net! ;)

@pensfan- I'm not sure if the Bryz is a SP.

@bassking- I really wouldn't expect much else from a lower end panini product. Lol but I guess it still is ink.

Lower end yes but surprisingly everything I have seen from this product is on card with the exception of that one card.

Lol nice, I got a unique one! I assumed they were all sticker. I like the design of the base set and the auto checklist is pretty good. I'm probably going to end up getting a few more of these.

Also my box had a filler in every single pack. Is every box like that with this product?

I liked him when he was in SoCal. He was a big part of the Ducks Cup run. Won the first round for us.

Contenders has a decoy in every pack if I recall

I've busted quite a few boxes of Contenders and it is a waaay better bust than RA, IMO.

Gunnarsson is the only NHL Ink I've seen with a sticker auto - rest are hard-signed (which is the one thing I *love* about Contenders!)
