2007 Bowman Chrome Prospect Scouting Report
Found this on the other site, tons of useful information here. I think the 111-220 checklist is a little more loaded than I had initially expected. After seeing this, and doing some research myself this isn't a bad class at all, and prospectors are getting excited. This could be the biggest break of the year, and I am already eating crow :rolleyes:
BC111 Mike Carp New York Mets Promising Mets 1B prospect. Only 21 and holding his own in AA with some power. BC112 Gregory Porter Angels Called up from AA to AAA last month. May be part of the push for the Angels this fall. Batting .336 for SLC. BC114 Matt Camp Chicago Cubs Moved up from A to AA after batting .363. BC115 Carlos Fisher Cincinnati Reds Part of future rotation with Cueto and Bailey. Called up to AA and averaging a K per inning. A few rough starts hurting his ERA. BC118 Burke Badenhop Detroit Tigers Has 10 wins and just pitched a 7 innning SO this week. BC120 Eric Young Jr. Colorado Rockies Future copy of his father. Great speed doing well in high A hitting .286. BC121 Henry Rodriguez Oakland Athletics Only 20 and averaging a K per inning in A ball. BC122 Carlos Fernandez-Oliva Boston Red Sox Hit .306 in A ball this year. Only 20. BC123 Chris Errecart Milwaukee Brewers Brewers top 1B prospect. Doing well in A ball with his average up to .280. BC124 Brandon Hynick Colorado Rockies May be a better P than #1 pick Reynolds. 13-3 with a 2.36 ERA this year. May get a start in September. BC129 Reegie Corona New York Yankees Moved him up to AA after a solid effort in A. Hitting .300 since promotion. Only 20. BC131 Bryan Byrne Arizona Diamondbacks Hitting .317 at A ball Visalia this year. BC134 Matt Young Atlanta Braves CF with speed. Called up to AA Mississippi in July. Batting .263 in AA after promotion. BC137 Jonathan Van Every Cleveland Indians Called up from AA to AAA in July. 8 HRs in 100 AB since promotion! BC140 Mitch Atkins Chicago Cubs Emerged as one of the Cubs top prospects. Lights out in high A this year promoted to AA in August. BC141 Robert Rohrbaugh Seattle Mariners Moving up nicely in the organization from AA to AAA in July. Only 23 with a 6-1 record since promotion. Likely to get a few starts in September. BC143 Adam Ricks Chicago White Sox Must like what they see moving him from A to AAA this month. BC144 Daniel Mayora Colorado Rockies Emerged as power hitting SS. Batting .306 with 12 HRs in A ball. BC145 Johnny Cueto Cincinnati Reds One of the hottest cards in set. Shot up from A to AA to AAA this year. Will likely be up in September. BC147 Jared Goedert Cleveland Indians Hit .364 in A ball with 16 HRs in 165 ABs. Just called up to high A and after a slow start is batting .389 in August. BC148 Jonathan Ash Houston Astros Hitting .364 in AA during July. BC149 Derek Miller Milwaukee Brewers Promoted to AA in July and is 4-0 since promotion. BC150 Juan Miranda New York Yankees Should be another hot card (especially as a NYY). Continues to do well for AA with 32 RBIs in 114 AB! BC156 Tony Butler Seattle Mariners Ms top young arm. Only 19 playing in A ball. A few rough outing throwing off his stats. BC160 Joe Gaetti Colorado Rockies Called up from AA to AAA last month. Already has 9 HRs in 183 AB. BC161 Mark Wagner Boston Red Sox Looks like the future replacement for Varatek. Batting .312 in high A ball with a nice OBP that Boston GM loves. BC162 Tommy Hanson Atlanta Braves Braves top P prospect. Moved up to high A in July with a few rough outings inflating his stats. BC166 Kala Kaaihue Atlanta Braves Should be one of the hottest cards in the set. 22 HRs this year in high A. Moved up to AA in July and had a rough start, but batting over .400 in last 5 games. BC174 Cedric Hunter San Diego Padres Pardres top prospect. Only 19 in A ball but has been on a tear of late batting .405 in August. Should be in AA next year. BC180 Chance Douglass Houston Astros 6-2 since promtion to AA. BC181 Daniel Murphy New York Mets Keep you eye on this hidden gem. Batting .500 last 2 weeks in A ball! BC184 Scott Lewis Cleveland Indians Top P prospect for Cleveland. Holding is own in AA. BC186 Chorye Spoone Baltimore Orioles One of Baltimore's top P prospects. Has been unhitable with only 5 ERs in last 4 starts. BC188 Adam Cowart San Francisco Giants One of the Giants top prospects. 12-5 with a 2.65 ERA in A ball. BC190 Gorkys Hernandez Detroit Tigers Future lead-off hitter for Tigers. Only 19 and hitting .343 in August. BC194 Cole Gillespie Milwaukee Brewers Slow start this year but still one of the Brewers top propsects. Batting over .340 since July 1! BC195 Brett Anderson Arizona Diamondbacks 2nd round pick in 2006. Pitched lights out in low A and adjusting since his promotion to high A. BC173 Chris Cody Detroit Tigers Traded to Milwaukee for Jose Capellan this year. BC196 Joe Mather St. Louis Cardinals Called up to AAA. Good power with 7 HRs in 163 AB since promotion. BC200 Tyler Clippard New York Yankees Not sure why he is in the set with other RCs, but called up to the show in 2007. BC202 Todd Redmond Pittsburgh Pirates Great debut in A ball last year. Moved up to AA in July and has an ERA under 2.50. BC210 Chris Carter Chicago White Sox Easy to confuse with future Ariz star 1B and just as good with 23 HRs in A ball. BC214 Carlos Corporan Milwaukee Brewers Promoted to AA after batting .371 as a C in A ball. BC220 Jeff Locke Atlanta Braves Hard throwing 19 year old averaging 1.2 K per inning in A ball. |
