What's happened to Marshon Brooks?
What has happened with Marshon Brooks? He showed some real promise in his rookie year averaging double figures in points and now he's on his 3rd team in 3 years. He barely played for Boston, a team that you'd think could use his young talent. And to make things visually worse, on ESPN, the trade headlines Steve Blake and not Brooks...Steve Blake!?!?!?! Can't sink much lower than that when Blake headlines the trade
Is he a bad defender? Knucklehead? Cancer in the locker room? What's his deal? |
Terrible defender, but that is all I heard. I was shocked he never got a shot in Boston too, local kid (Went to Providence or URI or wherever) and never got off the bench.
Really weird, must be a reason. Hopefully the Lakers let him play |
Steve Blake is a solid point guard....

Yea he is. I have him on one of my fantasy teams. Guy hits threes, steals, and averages almost a double double.... Def not a bad player. |
Steve Blake is a solid back up, lets not get carried away. Hes a 34 year old PG who hasnt been healthy since 2011. He fits a need for the Warriors, but its not like hes Chris Paul.
A solid PG woulda got more than a summer league superstar and the well traveled Marshon Brooks |
I didn't mean to disrespect Steve Blake...he is a solid back up PG but like a previous poster said, he's 34 yo and IMHO, Marshon SHOULD be a better player than Blake once both careers are over.

Maybe Marshon will resurrect his career like Kendall Marshall did :)!
I mean his defense can't be any worse than Marshall's lol |

I was so pumped when we drafted him, sad when we traded him away for JaJuan Johnson or whatever, and then pumped to reacquire him, figuring he might have a shot to catch on in the rebuilding phase. Problem with Providence's system while he was there is that they didn't play any defense and it nearly ruined the program with how badly they sucked while Davis was the coach. |
He will fit with the Lakers....no defense required.

LOL!! Very true. |

The D'Antoni system. He sure knows how to mold a point guard though. :D |

I mean his defense can't be any worse than Marshall's lol
Funny how so many people give D'Antoni so much crap about his coaching but he certainly has made quite a few players a lot of money. I am sure some one will give Marshall another contract but can he be sucessful if its not in D'Antonis system? Earl Clark sure thanks him. James Jones, Lou Amundson, Raja Bell and the list goes on. The Ultimate players coach?!!!! |
