website for rims?

Just bought a new car. Looking for a website that will let you see interactively what different wheels look on a particular car. Are there any that let you pick your make and model then show you what specific rims would look like on your vehicle?

Not looking for "baller" fancy, spinning, or anything like that. Just a little upgrade

Tirerack.com

I got a great deal from a buddy in car sales on a 2013 impala ltz for the wife. The wheels are nice as they are, but I've always liked the looks of the black ones. Probably with a red accent to match the car. Also plan on tinting the windows and eventually getting black led head and tail lights.

Nothing to fancy. Just something that "pops" a little bit.

I'm getting old. I haven't put "rims" on something for many, many years nor has it crossed my mind in quite some time. It isn't that I don't care because I focus on the wheels quite a bit when buying a new car. Factory wheels have gotten nice enough now that I just can't force myself to spend money to upgrade. Man, the money I wasted on rims and car stereos over the years. :(:( I agree with above though, Tirerack is a fantastic site and company. If I was going to buy new wheels, it would certainly be through them. They come mounted and balanced. All you need to do is bolt them on.

Just google cheap rim jobs and you will find a wealth of helpful information.

Ordinarily we wouldn't have either. This is the nicest car we have owned in years. Been use to driving high mileage junk for a long time.

I thought promoting other members' sites wasn't allowed

OP, if you're looking for a sweet deal on wheels, you should swing by "RimTyme" on Keystone and 54th. It looks like a legit place to get a "hot" deal

Honestly, for an Impala, the rims on it now arent that bad. If you want black rims (or any other color), then just PlastiDip yours that you have now. Easy to do yourself and super cheap.

I wanted black rims on my 2013 Kia Optima, so I just plastidipped them

Lol. Yea, there are a few places to find "hot deals" around Indy.

Interesting. I'll check into that. I hadn't heard of it before. I do like the ones it came with so that may be a possibility.

Took me 3 cans I believe it was to do 3 coats each rim. Cost about $12. Lowes, Home Depot, etc sell the normal black and white color, but you can find other colors online.

It's a spray that hardens. Acts as a protectant too against rocks or anything that might scratch the actual rim. Some people plasti their entire car to give it a matte finish.

And best thing about it..ever get tired of it or don't like it, it peels right off.

How long have you had it? It doesn't chip or anything? What if you hit a curb? (Wife's driving scares me sometimes. Lol)

Yea. That's a bit much. I like unique, but not flashy. I don't want to look like every other impala on the road, but I don't want to stand way out either...if that makes sense. Call it a personal touch, if you will.

bigzig 08-31-2014 05:10 PM

I may not get any if I can't find something we like. I just want to see the wheels on our car before we decide to make a purchase. It certainly wouldn't be anything outrageously priced. I have no desire to spend more than a grand on wheels, and that's probably pushing it.
