Updated OP to make it easier to read and split out 1st and 2nd teams

steelcityguy 01-02-2015 12:43 PM

Funny that Luck would get a vote over Big Ben. Considering Ben's stats across the board were better than lucks. Well, all but TDs where Luck had 8 more, but every other stat, better, some by a large margin.

Wait, do players only need one vote to make the 2nd or 3rd team All Pro?

Jackg1980 01-02-2015 12:50 PM

JJ Watt made it at two positions!

PittYinzer 01-02-2015 12:54 PM

Got it right for Pittsburgh, although AB should have been unanimous.

I think everyone who gets a vote is listed, but for example if only 2 kickers in the entire league receive any votes and one of them only gets one vote then yes he would be second team.

So did Clay Matthews. :)!
I think you can take Romo out of the MVP consideration as well compared to the huge vote difference between him and Rodgers.
Watt or Rodgers IMO, I'm OK with either.

packman80 01-02-2015 01:28 PM

I can see a argument for not having Jordy Nelson as a all pro with the two guys voted ahead of him. But not to have Josh Sitton as a all pro is joke. No way is Zack Martin better then him. Sitton is probably the best guard in the NFL.

Nobody else got any votes at TE for First Team? That's rather poor IMO.

Julius Thomas was in the conversation until he got hurt. He was on fire for half the season.

DUCKanay 01-02-2015 02:18 PM

Surprised Mack didn't even get one vote

lagalaxyfan23 01-02-2015 02:25 PM

No votes for Bradley Fletcher at all? This list is trash...

JustinVerlander07 01-02-2015 02:26 PM

Le'veon > Demarco

SaveMeTheGum 01-02-2015 02:32 PM

Talib doesn't play for New England.

Jamie Collins is a B-E-A-S-T.

SavageScott 01-02-2015 02:34 PM

so who didn't vote for Watt as an end? LOL

lagalaxyfan23 01-02-2015 02:44 PM

I think LeVeon should have been first team over Murray, I think Anthony Sherman should have been over John Kuhn, I think Travis Frederick and Corey Linsley should have both been ranked higher than Mangold and Pouncey, I think Cody Parkey should have at least received some form of votes, and Harrison Smith should have been ranked higher. Other than that, looks reasonable to me!

RandyMarsh 01-02-2015 07:28 PM

Harrison Smith not being one of the Safties is a JOKE. I love Earl Thomas and Eric Weddle, but Smith was the BEST safety in the NFL this year. Look at the numbers.

Just another popularity contest.

Hawksmack 01-02-2015 07:41 PM

Bobby Wagner what a stud. Dude misses five games and still makes the list. Guy would have had a record setting year had he been healthy. He was phenomenal down the stretch.

People have slept on him for three years! All you have to do is play madden to see how dominating he is haha... you know, or watch the games.

I was thinking about Antonio Gates, that guy was on a tear as well, but no votes at all for First Team? For shame Writers.

It seems like most of these lists come down to name recognition more than merit anymore (and this comment is necessarily directed at Gronk).

randomhereoh 01-03-2015 07:30 AM

Where are all the guys who were saying "Richard Sherman is having a down year" now.

Olson (and Bennett) have his yards but half the touchdowns. Graham has the touchdowns but not the yards. Who do you think deserved First Team votes?

I agree. He got snubbed in everything this year. Can maybe say the same about Everson Griffen, too.

Harrison Smith is a beast!

Oh, good point. Gates slipped under my radar too. Maybe because the Chargers missed the playoffs, he skipped under theirs.

You are right, Gates deserved at least a vote.
