"Seller Has Cancelled Order"
Has anyone else fell victim to eBay's latest whole in their system that allows the seller to cancel the item whenever they feel the need to?
I won a card for my Oladipo Flawless RC Auto master set that I was missing. I got it for a great price due to the NBA regular season being over with (Magic are not in the Playoffs) and the seller's title including the word "Autographs" instead of "Auto". Atleast I think that had something to do with it. Anyways, 2 days after I paid for the card the seller messaged me that he dropped the card while shipping and the BGS case is broke. How convenient.. I told him that I do not care as I prefer the card raw anyways for my PC. He instead cancelled the listing and refunded my money. I was not even given the opportunity to disagree with the cancelling of the transaction. So, it appears that the transaction is now closed and the seller does not have to ship the card or pay a final value fee for the transaction. I'm sorry, but this is 100% BS that an option like this even exists! |
What?? I thought buyers need to agree to transaction cancellation? That's messed up. Can you even Neg him?

Exactly what I thought. Apparently not anymore.. Luckily I was able to leave him negative feedback. I hate doing it, but it was warranted in this situation. |

That's horrible news for buyers. Too many loopholes for buyers and seller, eBay is getting worse and worse.

You can't win, he only has to send off some worthless garbage and then you claim not as advertised and you get a refund.
Leave a neg and move on. He may even get that removed. Ebay is completely flawed, COMC everyday. |
Nah... just found out myself 2 days ago that the cancellation is unilateral and the buyer can't do nothing about it. I was shocked myself.

This isn't anything new. Sellers have had this ability for years. Happened to me about 5-6 years ago. Seller claimed he sold the card at a show over the weekend and forgot to delete the EBay listing.... |
