DeAngelo Russell - Cancels workout with Philly
Take that as you want.
Lakers are going to take him? Which would be awesome to see Philly stuck there at 3 staring at Okafor after Noel and Embiid... Or does DeAngelo just not want to play in Philly? |
And by the way - I totally understand there could be a valid reason - but that's no fun
|
He was sick
|
Why would anyone want to play in Philly with that laughingstock of a team?
|

I've seen that but ive also seen that is false. Have you seen something official? |
De'Angelo Russell will be the best player in this draft.

Explains everything. And if the Lakers take him, that doesn't mean the Sixers have to take the left over big. |
Laughingstock?
Nerlens Noel Joel Embiid Dario Saric Robert Covington 3rd pick this year 4 1sts next year Most cap space in the league
What am I missing here? That is clearly a laughing stock type team. |

A 24 year old rookie.... |
If the lakers take russell I wouldnt put it past philly to take mudiay
|
#1 pick is solidified. Karl Anthony Towns.
#2 ??? I think okafore stock dropped because his lack of defense. Therefore this thread is interesting and we will get our answers in about 2 weeks June 25th draft. |

Nerlens Noel Joel Embiid Dario Saric Robert Covington 3rd pick this year 4 1sts next year Most cap space in the league
Cap space doesn't mean much if people don't want to play there. Their management has been miserable. They just acquire picks and cap space and when they get solid in those to categories they trade again for more picsk and cap space, lol. At some point you have to actually DO something. So far they have injury prone and foreign picks. Noel is solid but nothing to be too excited about. This team is as much of a mess as my team.
If the lakers take russell I wouldnt put it past philly to take mudiay
NYK would love that! |

For now, they will be at the top of the East in the near future.
Cap space doesn't mean much if people don't want to play there. Their management has been miserable. You don't build a contender over-night, and building a middle of the road team is pointless. Very very very very rarely does a team get to the top without starting at the bottom. |
If I was him I'd love to go there cause he'd play 35 mins a game and probably be rookie of the year. Plus you could get a ton of those philly roast pork sandwiches.

And in that time I have seen them take Saric who may never come over and if he does might not be good. I have seen them draft Noel who sat out a year, Embiid who sat out a year. I have seen them trade the ROY to a playoff team and trade McDaniels a really solid player. They aren't keeping their young talent. Sixers fans better hope these guys aren't injury prone and that they have some semblance of a plan. |

I'll play devil's advocate. Noel was a projected #1 pick in a weak draft on many sites, even well after the injury occurred, and to this point I'd consider a successful pick. Embiid was projected #1 prior to the injury, and nobody expected him to be hurt this badly. Saric has as much potential as you're going to find in a 12th overall pick, and with McDaniels, not only was he on a 1 year deal, both himself and his mother openly complained about the team. Might as well get something for him before he would have left in FA this offseason. I'm not saying the GM has done everything right. That MCW for what is now a top 2 protected Lakers pick could come back to bite them, and the players don't really mesh together well, but when you take into account the young pieces he has, along with his massive stash of overseas players (Micic is a personal favorite), AND 4 more first rounders next season to pair with another 5 second rounders this year to add to their overseas pool even more, it's safe to say he's doing something right. |
If I was Russell I wouldn't want to play in Philly.
