Petition to Un-Ban D2R
 

To the Court of BO admins... as we all know, D2R has been banned for a verbal lapse. He is a big perv, yes, but a well-meaning one. And he's been [B]our[/B] perv since 2007.

He meant no ill will despite the latest unwise construction of his sentences. He has long been exceedingly helpful to members old and new with respect to their hobby questions. As you know, sometimes his Off-Topic tendencies drift over to the Baseball section. His lack of a filter has often led his friends to warn him, after which he'd promptly delete any offending text.

We were a step slow this time. We respectfully ask that he be given another chance. I apologize in his stead for his tiring the admins with the need to police. But I have no doubt he would've deleted this latest comment too had he been given a tap on the shoulder since it went too far.

Please bring back D2R...

That being said, wish D2R was here, especially given what he and others have said with no repercussions at all before. Feel for the mods trying to balance everything and now have to worry about not giving in to mod mentality, but man

I posted this in his PC thread but I'll post it again here

He didn't say anything in that thread that other members haven't said or even worse in other threads recently. I think he got in trouble for that "genre" of humor in the past and was banned for it so I'm assuming that had something to do with his ban this time around

I understand people may not find something funny, or agree that it's a topic to joke about, but [B]this is an internet message board. If some person you have never met in your life, hell you don't even know their name or anything about them says something that offends you, that's just pathetic.[/B]

I do think the mods have a really tough job, they have to balance letting the members have a little fun but keep the PR image of BO in a good light and I really respect them around here, but this sucks

I personally really enjoyed him as a member, I thought he was hilarious but he irked a lot of members, not sure why they just couldn't put him on ignore. He was a very smart baseball mind and was great, and very knowledgable with the hobby.

Someone get the change.org petition up!

I respectively hope the admins give him another chance. His humor could take a 180 but he will probably be in check if you let him back. He was always on the boards and was helpful, knowledgable and a good member. I hope they just think about it, he was a good member. Where do I sign?

This is an absolute joke. Like someone said here, others have posted worse. Even things that can sometimes be legitimately offensive. But from what Im finding (and it isnt much), D2R's banishment should be overturned

Looks like he had a couple more that got deleted. Not too bad, guessing the stack up though with past offenses. Unlike metsplaya d2r is a mainstay, who else will post in the braves thread?

D2R's comments, though in very poor taste, were not ban-worthy, especially given the fact that they were meant in jest. I appreciate the difficulty the mods have in keeping the peace.

This is not a professional work environment, or a place of business. This is an open forum, and last I checked people have freedom of speech. I feel this has more to do with past transgressions than the current situation.

Yeah I meant 180, I avtually went back to my original post and fixed it feeling stupid every second. Wouldn't a 720 also put him in the same position as a 360 though? :D:D:D

I'm willing to bet it wasn't post #16 that got him banned. Id guess the Mods would have removed the post if it were found to be that offensive.

If post 16 is what did it, maybe its time to start banning members for all of the very risqué photos being posted of nearly nude women? Id be willing to bet many members or visitors to this site would find those to be of poor taste as well.
