They were all done for the four issue comic...

They were all done for the four issue comic collection. 5 were "lost cards" (which the weren't as they were done after the fact for the books) in the tin set and the other5 15 were used in MM 93

The book is published by IDW and has no connection to Upper Deck. The 10 new paintings were done exclusively as a sales incentive the book and not for use in any UD card set.
