It's been very tempting for me, but I got to level 21 without spending a penny. But I hear the struggle with pokeballs. Sometimes I just ignore a wild pokemon if I have a million of them or something (my town is packed with voltorbs and magnemites, so I tend to ignore those a lot more now a days).
