I have collected Griffey for many years, many of those in my teens I wasn't able to afford very much but that's where the collection started. I've been able to grow it decently for the last several years to where there's a decent number of higher end cards. Btw... I'm a 90's card guy, I like to remember him in his amazing Mariners years.

I have a question for you guys though. About 15 years ago I picked up a card off Ebay ( when Ebay was really in it's infancy ). I knew it was rare and I got a great price on it.

It's the 1999 Skybox Premium Star Rubies 19 of 50

I have never seen another one on Ebay. Are they really that scarce? I've talked with several high end collectors and they all say the same thing. "No, I've never had the pleasure of owning one"

So, what is the value on this card? I'm in no market to sell, I'm just curious.

Thanks all,

Steve
Welcome, Steve!

90's Griffey collector myself with a similar collecting background as you - started in my teens, didn't have much $ to buy the inserts I still love today back when they first came out but have been able to now. Good to have you on the boards.

That '99 Rubies /50 is a stunner and very rare card from that era. I think it could command $750 on the market and go for higher depending on condition since that set was condition sensitive.
