What if he does not win the HRD but keeps his MLB pace? Then does the HRD not have an effect?

You must be too young to remember josh Hamilton at yankee stadium I believe in 2008. His base topps traded went from $2 to $30 plus overnight and his topps traded auto from $30 to over $1000++ because of his home run derby performance.
